I would have given this hotel an excellent rating if it were close to anything. When you are there, you are there! You have to drive some distance to anything else. If you want peace and quiet, this is your place. Great for golf and a very nice swiming pool. The food was very good and the staff were prompt and plesant.

this hotel is excellent value in all ways. Experienced traveler and was wonderful hotel for a week long vacation for me and my wife. Room was first class with wonderful view of rainforest. Location of hotel was superb as long as you had a rental car. Went into Panama City regularly and an easy 25 minute drive to most locations in evening, longer in daytime traffic. Also easy access to Canal, beaches to the west and nearby attractions.

Jungle retreat was a not to miss experience arranged by hotel.

Staff was great and went out of way to be helpful. Only surprise here was how difficult the English language was for many of the staff.

Room Tip: stayed on 8th floor with rainforest view....and balcony....very nice

This property is in the rainforest, so don't expect all the glitz and glamour of a city hotel. The rooms were a decent size, modern and clean. The food was passable, sometimes it was good, and sometimes not. The golf course looked very nice, but I did not get a chance to play. The hotel is very quite, there is nothing nearby that you could walk to, so you are kind of locked into what the hotel has. The pool area was very large, and had chairs tables etc. The only negative I had was that there was very little English spoken here, but the staff was very helpful and friendly.

Room Tip: The rainforest view was nice, but I really don't think it mattered much as the hotel is surround...

Stayed here for a week on business. It's certainly a good hour's taxi ride from Tocumen Airport ( and that was at 11p.m. at night) but worth being outside of the City - I had a conference in the hotel so travelling into Panama City itself was not required. The hotel is beautifully situated abouit 10-15 mins drive from Miraflores Lock. It is clearly a popular golf course given the number of players around - although many of them were not staying at the hotel. I was on the 8th floor which is the business floor so possibly better rooms than on other floors. Everything in the room was in good condition and there was a good sized balcony overlooking the 'jungle' in which the hotel and golf course is situated. Toiletries were provided on a ratrher ad hoc basis but we did not run out of anything. Beds were very comfortable and there was a nice clock/radio with IPod dock which was good. Coffeemaker with tea and coffee packets etc.

The food at the hotel was mixed - breakfast was pretty comprehensive although some of the fruit was there somedays but not others. Also the juice was not fresh but out of a bottl;e - although if asked, the real stuff would be found. A good range of hot breakfast dishes - scrambled eggs every day, bacon some days, sausage some days, and some local dishes. Also a chef ready to cook omelettes, fried eggs etc. Service was good at breakfast. Also had one meal in the evening, which was OK but service slow and food was not as hot as it should have been especially as it was quiet.
Nice pool and sufficient seating around it. Excellent for bird enthusiasts as there are some nice spots to just sit and watch. In the short time we were there, we saw a sloth and some red tailed squirrels - probably would see more if you put your mind to it! There is a free shuttle down to Albrook Mall - 1030 and1500 each day - with pick up at 1530 at the Mall. This is the cheapest way to visit the causeway and the old city - around $5 for a taxi from there to either place.
Staff in the hotel were always pleasant and helpful - nothing seemed to be a bother.

All in all a very nice place to stay in a very different environment from the usual business type hotel.

Room Tip: Most rooms have a balcony I think - views over the golf course are probably nicest though we had a v...

we stayed for 2 nights in feb 2012 at this hotel... great rooms , nice lobby , pool and restaurant area... breakfast needs improvement. although hotel staff was very helpful and friendly , they need to be more well informed about tourist attractions and getting around Panama City. The hotel is mainly for golfers I believe... a more central location is recommended if you do not want to waste time and money with taxis.
