This place is phenomenal, recently opened by Chef Alfonso de La Espriella, former chef de cuisine at the Manrey Hotel and La Trona. This quaint chalet has been transferred into a bistro in the middle of the city. Hidden among trees "Casa Escondida" will make you feel right at home.
Specials are what you should go with lots to choose, we had prime cuts of angus beef (New York and Rib Eye) perfectly prepared, but so enormous we could not finish them. The lamb shank is amazing falling of the bone in an exotic old world sauce that you can eat with crisp french fries with truffle oil. For starters we had the Tuna tartar which was freshly caught and the Octopus a la Gallega, probably the best in the city. From the permanent menu you have to try the Pork buns giving you a taste of the orient, the falafel burger and the tuna steak.
We highly enjoyed this place with our family in a large meal, but could easily go back with friends to drink wine and eat tapas for hours. The ambience seems very adaptable to however many are in your group.
If in Panama Casa I recommend you try to find the Casa Escondida you will want to return for sure.
