This is a rosticcerie chicken a-la-Salvadoran. It is one of those business who has kept their homemade flavor and have not become greedy at expanding/making their food too industrial. Salvadoran love it and you will see always lines for it especially on weekend. It is not in the best part of town so I doubt almost no foreigner will have it. But it's okay, it is just rosticcerie chicken at the end…

My husband remembers eating here with his mother when he was a child over 50 years ago. We've now returned twice. Once was back in 2006 and then again yesterday. Both times we were disappointed with the food and my husband walked out complaining that the chicken was not at all the same as what he remembered from when he was a child.

The menu is basic. Chicken, cabbage, chips and rolls. Nothing is particularly good. It's not awful, just not very good.

That stated, for tourists the restaurant is close to the National Cathedral and it is worth the visit just to see what a well known and popular Salvadoran "hole in the wall" is like. The place is extremely crowded with lines both for sitting down at a table and for take out.

Go for the cultural experience but don't go expecting good food. And finish off the visit by walking around the corner for ice cream at the ubiquitous POPS with the tropical flavors you will not often find in the U.S. or Europe.

With my coworkers we went to get chicken for people at the office because most people hadn't tried it even when they live here in the capital and everybody was amazed by the chicken taste, price and yummy fries. The wait was worth the great meal.
