“Very good, almost great”

We booked this apartment through an agency, StanNaDan. Communication with them via email was excellent and very prompt, and they coped easily with changing requests from our group.

Arrival was a bit of a problem as the apartment building wasn't very easy to find, even with the address. Luckily I texted the owner and he gave me directions and met me outside. I'd suggest making sure you have his contact details. (Or note that the building has a large red beer billboard on the roof).

The location itself is fantastic if you come by land: basically across the road from the bus and train stations. If we hadn't got lost it would have taken us 5 minutes max to walk there.

Check-in was easy, the owner was there before us and everything went smoothly, he speaks English well.

The building itself looks unimpressive and somewhat dirty, but the apartment is great, very modern and tastefully decorated, with nice beds, TVs, and WiFi. There's a kitchen and a washing machine. Worth noting that even though you are close to the station and a main road, the apartment is quiet at night (we stayed 5 nights, and only had noise problems once, with drunk guys shouting in the street on Saturday night).

From the apartment you can walk to Hotel Moscow in about 15 minutes, which puts you close to the fortress, museums, the main shopping streets and the bohemian district (this is probably a good 30 minute walk from the apartment, though). You can also walk to riverside bars and restaurants quite quickly, and to St Sava's or the Tesla Museum in about 30 minutes (we didn't take public transport once, although we tend to like walking). Trams run right outside the building if you do need public transport.

Only downsides: the WiFi was patchy - it would sometimes stop working on one device but not others, and some sites seemed harder to access than others. Also at checkout we had to wait for the owner to come to the apartment, rather than just leaving when we chose. But those are small issues. I would definitely stay again in this pleasant apartment, and would give it 5 stars other than those issues.
