This is the place to be and to spend most of your time. Full of life, historical monuments, vibrant and cool pubs, bars, restaurants and shops.

We booked an AirBnB in Old Town for 6 nights in March, 2018. This allowed us a central location to explore and tour and we loved it. Vibrant group of restaurants and bars for almost any taste. Prices are reasonable, although a bit higher than outside this area.

The area stays active pretty late each night, with things getting busy around 7-8pm. Great restaurants to sit outside and people watch. We were never rushed at any of the places we ate.

There are lot's of people smoking in these areas, and the rules are that smoking is not allowed indoors - so outside seating typically have quite a few smokers. If that bothers you check the wind direction to avoid it.

One thing my wife and I noticed quickly is how warm the restaurants and almost all inside venues are in Bucharest. This is no exception in Old Town. The only complaint would be some restaurants seem to take this to an extreme, In one we had to leave after being seated as it was just too warm.

An ex-pat who lives there told us this is almost a cultural artifact as heat was "free" under communist control and people there became accustomed to being quite warm....? We saw this same thing repeated in numerous cabs and Uber rides over the time we were there.

Might as well be any clubby touristy place. Has lost any personality it might have once had as the lanes are lined with bad pubs and restaurants. Oh, and watch out for low rising bollards that you can easily trip over like my partner did rather badly.

Fascinating variety and expanse. It is a relatively small area and easily walk-able. Great restaurants and great architecture lines the area.

We were here for two days (Fri and Sat nights). the town is filled with bars and clubs on either sides (Lipscani street). The best bars were Vintage Room and Bound. Highly recommend
