Everything was fine. I have no idea why is not possible to open the windows. In the hotel was too hot, the air condition was switched off centrally and the ventilation was not enough to cool down the temperature in the room. Overall good impression. 100 meters to the metro station.

My second stay for business reasons. This hotel offers very good value for money. It is close to the rail way station and the entrance to the subway is just by the door. A two trip ticket on the subway is 3 Lei.

The room is sufficiently large with a small desk. Everything was clean and quiet except for all stray dogs running around in the streets barking in the middle of the night. The bathroom is not too big but was clean and with good ventilation. The beds seem fairly new but are a bit stiff for my liking.

Internet connection is offered for free by cable (bring your own) or wireless - ask for the password at the reception. Connection speed is good and I had no problems doing remote work over VPN or just surfing around.

Hotel staff are overall nice but the interpretation of service seems to be very individual.

There are two main issues with this hotel (coming from a spoiled western european).
First: The restaurant in the hotel seems to be the only decent one in the area. Despite this the menu is less than inspiring. Service is OK but offers nothing more than what needs to be done. Having ordered a soup and a "porc steak" it turns out the soup was OK but the steak must have been cooked during the day and heated in the microwave. It was dry, hard and tasteless. Only the french fries were good. This was also the case during my first stay in August 2010. Fortunately I found a Domino's Pizza only two minutes walk from the hotel.
Second: The area around the hotel does not inspire to any exploration of the city. Several blocks are torn down (for reconstruction?) and many of the buldings still standing have no inhabitants and seem locked down, no glass windows but just black holes showing the ruined interiors, facades dirty and black as after a fire. But take the subway and go downtown to the tiny "old town" and you will find many restaurants and department stores and historic sights.

So my final verdict is that it is a good hotel offering good value for money and all I need for business - for which I recommend it. But it is not a place I would spend valuable vacation days in.

Very close to the train station Gara de Nord. Great hotel if you have a very early train the next morning. Rooms are not bad but definately bare bones and a bit worn. A good price for rooms in the area but don't expect too much to get excited about. The restaurant is great and since there aren't any choices besides in the hotels, eating there is pretty good. The staff is friendly and the bar is a great place to relax.
