I stay only one night at Palace hotel in Zagreb. Pitty ! because weather was very nice, the city is very nice and full of life: pubs , restaurants nice people and very much to see around. Hotel was a big surprise: very clean , fresh and everything brend new inside : furniture, painting , carpet in the room and hall. Hotel is located in center of Zagreb , tram stop is just in the front of the hotel. 10 min walking to the old town. Nice hotel building in the arhitecture of 19th century which seems has been rehabilitated recently. Room size big enough, bad good ( not too hard not too soft) , bathroom clean and nice decorated , shower worked very well ( brend new), wifi works, air conditioning works , TV has a lot satelite channels, very nice ! Pitty that the window can be open only 15 degrees in which case air conditioning stop working. At reception very good and nice staff , breakfast room big and selection of food quite good. All in all very nice ! I would recommend it for those who do not like huge hotels with glass and steel and 150 people around. This hotel is perfect: small, discret and intim with nice atmosphere that makes you feel like home.

Room tip: quiet room

Location excellent, room had recently been renovated and was spacious, bright and very pleasant. Quiet room that overlooked a lovely little garden and fountain. The ceiling in the Victorian style reception is beautiful. Staff very friendly and helpful, particularly the young man who checked us in. Food was very good, lots of choice at breakfast. Whole hotel was spotlessly clean. Free WiFi a real plus. The only thing preventing me awarding five stars was tea/coffee making facilities in the room but would definitely recommend and would stay again.

The Palace Hotel is an old charmer. You have to like the look and feel of a Victorian era hotel. If you do, you'll enjoy the hotel. The rooms are modest, but have been updated, with new bathrooms. The breakfast is excellent. The staff attentive. The location superb.

The Palace Hotel is perfectly situated, close in to the old city area of Zagreb and within 10 minutes one is in the heart of the city. A small boutique hotel with decor reminiscent of the Art Deco styling - the staff are really pleasant and the breakfast excellent. I guess the only downside was the size of the standard room which was a tight squeeze for a couple with 2 suitcases. But the perfect location wins this hotel hands down.

Room tip: If the budget can afford it, try for a slightly larger room
