The Westin Zagreb is nicely located for exploring the central city. It is adjacent to Zagreb’s U-shaped “Green Horseshoe” of shaded parks (including the lovely Zagreb Botanical Gardens) and famous historical buildings in Lower Town. The Mimara Museum is one block away – it houses an impressive collection of artwork, artifacts and archaeology covering centuries of global history. Upper Town with its older cathedrals, museums, farmers market and cobblestone streets is a scenic 15-minute walk.
Everything about this hotel was comfortable, including the “Diane Bar” off a side hallway near the lobby; I enjoyed several casual meals and drinks there. A larger dining room nearby serves buffets meals, especially for tour groups. The bed, pillows, room layout and bathroom were all practical with good quality. Hotel Wi-Fi signal was excellent. I spent two nights here and slept and ate well. Afterwards, I realized that one full day/two nights in Zagreb is not enough because there are so many museums, art galleries, restaurants and shops to visit. Since this is the capital of Croatia, a minimum two full days, three nights would have been better.More
