It is basically one block of old houses on a Svislach river bank in the old town. There are a lot of restaurants and art galleries for such a little place. It looks quite nice and is pretty close to some other places a tourist might like to see, such as Opera and Ballet Theatre, Upper Town, Great Patriotic War Museum, October square and so on. I would recommend to take a walk there on a nice day and see the Island of Tears there and maybe take a boat on the opposite side of the river, too.

The only part of old city, which survived from World War II. You can enjoy the look of it from the Island of Taers.

Other reviews have talked about the area being historic ... but it didn't look very historic to me - most of the buildings looked fairly new!

I was there on a Sunday afternoon in Summer - I was surprised how quiet it was ... but then the whole city was quite quiet !

And it's quite small - don't expect a big area.

If you are in Minsk, do not miss a walk here or in the surrounding areas, it is absolutely lovely and there are plenty of cafes to enjoy a drink, there is a lovely souvenir shop, with unique items and a reasonable price (did not find a similar one somewhere else), you can enjoy a ride on the boat on the river (for rent on the opposite side, small boats, you need to paddle yourself). Not to be missed!
