I know. 'La Rambla' is the best par of montevideo yo visit. One of the best places to stay as well. But then, there is El Prado. Amazing parks, really quiet surroundings, and one of the best 'tablados' for carnival season (that means the whole of february an a good piece of march). Los Yuyos, an excellent distillery is a 'must' to visit.

As perhaps the premier park in Montevideo, El Prado is dingy and dirty. The city should spend more money on maintenance to make this an enjoyable location. Skip El Prado and spend your leisure time on the Rambla (beaches).

Wonderful place for a stroll on a sunny day. An extremely relaxing and lovely park to spend a quiet afternoon away from the crowds.

Lovely walk along the river - so much greenery. Took the city bus through perhaps not the nicest areas of Montevideo to arrive at this oasis. The area also includes the botanical gardens and the rosedal. It is such a wonderful way to spend a sunny afternoon. Highly recommend.
