It is far from being ideal and if you go,you must adjust your expectations. If you first arrive in Lima from Europe, you might feel that this hotel is poor - I thought so after my stay here. But, considering the standards in Peru, I think that location and price are a good reason to book it. However, please bare in mind the furniture is old and dated with a strange mouldy smell in the room. But most of all I hated that the towels were very dirty !There is no elevator and the breakfast is very basic. On the other hand, it is rather centrally located in Miraflores and at a 15 min walk from the Mall.

We asked to our driver a nice lodging and his recommendation was ok for the night. May is a humid month in Lima, and the gardens of the hotel felt us to be involved in nature. The staff was kind and ready to help us with information for tours and shows at night. Not expensive for the Miraflores district. Their breakfast could be better, not a big deal.

Room Tip: Always far from the kitchen

A very home-like hotel, in a small building, with beautiful wood work staircase.
The location is in a good neighborhood, and although they are not close to the airport, they have an arrangement with a reliable taxi driver to be picked up there (30-60 min, depending on time and traffic).

We had the pleasure of staying at Hotel San Antonio Abad on our way to and from Cusco. It was a nice charming centrally located very reasonably priced hotel in what appeared to be an old house that was converted to a hotel. They included a nice continental breakfast with the added flourish of someone cooked your eggs. But the most amazing part was the customer service. They arranged taxi to and from airport (4 times), advised on when a restaurant reservation was needed. Arranged 3 tours for us and also rescheduled everything when our plane from Cusco was late (not uncommon). Top notch service and very friendly staff. Highly recommend this place.

Summary:
The Hotel San Antonio Abad was a satisfactory, but not great hotel close to the main square of the Miraflores neighborhood of Lima.

Pros:
Location - Very close to one of the main squares of Miraflores but far enough off of main/busy roads to limit noise, overall safe area.
Employees - Friendly Service at the front desk and from breakfast servers.
Breakfast - Standard selection of breakfast foods included every morning, most options seemed fresh.

Cons:
Security - Lack of deadbolt and flimsy lock on the door (our room was not within the main part of the hotel, our door led into the hotel's courtyard).
Furnishings - Basic bed, not very comfortable.
Bathroom - Shower head leaked a lot and the drain did not work well.
