“Very nice and great location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 April 2012

I only stayed 2 days because they were sold out. Good hotel with friendly staff and a decent breakfast. A bit pricy, but its the brand your paying for.

Room Tip: Higher floor to get away from the street noise

Before we ever arrived, the hotel manager contacted me for the specifics of my stay and inquired about any additional needs. The bilingual staff made every effort to maximize our experience, and the concierge was super helpful. The whole staff from the lobby to the executive lounge were professional, courteous, and friendly. The room was just a dream, combining decor and comfort. Breakfast was a treat with a combination of local fare and standard 'breakfastations'. Way to go El Pardo, this place is superb.

The Doubletree El Pardo Hotel was ideally located in the Miraflores neighborhood of Lima. It was situated close to el Parque Kennedy near numerous restaurants and supermarkets. The hotel front desk manager Ana T. was lovely. She arranged an early check in and changed our room when the airconditioner was not working properly. (Even in the new room. our a.c. did not function at the optimum level...) The Double Queen Room was big enough to fit a rollaway bed in it...however it had a few extra pieces of furniture that took up space. The breakfast buffet was ample enough, but my son discovered a "cucaracha" on the floor one morning. The hostess at the breakfast buffet was a bit rude when we pointed this out and was not very pleasant overall.
The location of the hotel was ideal.....Closely located to the Vivanda & Metro supermarkets and
many reasonable restaurants. A taxi to central Lima was only a 10 sole ride, and the Autobus Metropolitana was only 1.50 soles. The hotel was also within walking distance to the Larcomar Shopping complex and other stores. By far, the most centrally located and convenient hotel that I saw in Lima. The Doubletree also had the advantage of being only an eight block walk from the fascinating ruins of Huaca Pucllana - A must see in Lima!

Overall a decent stay in the Doubletree El Pardo. A few things (such as the a.c.) need to be improved but the location of the hotel truly made up for this.

Room Tip: Aim for a high floor - Less street noise.

We booked this hotel because we were looking for a place that was adequately nice, without spending too much. We found the Doubletree El Pardo exceeded our expectations. The hotel is a renovated older building. Other reviews have noted the street noise. While we did not find it to be too bad, it is something they should address. Before we left for our trip the concierge, Ruben, contacted us to see if we had any requests. While we have stayed in many high-end hotels, this was a first and earned them points for service. We requested extra towels and pillows and both were waiting for us when we arrived. The breakfast buffet was very good. We had been recommended to the hotel's dinner show of folkloric dance and music. This was very nice. The show featured costumes, dances, and music from many of the different ethnic areas of Peru. The dinner was especially nice, with many local dishes including ceviche and other seafood and meats as well as some very nicely prepared vegetables. When we returned to our home, we found an email from the hotel saying that I had dropped my drivers license in the room. They wanted instructions on how to return it to me. I asked them to mail it to me, which they did without charge. I expect that if I had asked for rush delivery, they would have passed along the cost to me, which is only reasonable! But I was impressed that they cared. I expect many hotels would have just trashed it and I would have never known it was missing. So all told, I would recommend this hotel and will use it again the next time I visit Lima.

Expensive. Everything. Quality you would expect for the price and matches US hotel. Prices are "american style", i.e. they will slap 28% (18% local tax + 10% service charge) on top of everything. They even list prices in USD (and sometimes mention S/.). Buffet in the evening not worth the price even if they advertise it because of the show (starts 9pm everyday). You better get a seat at the bar (2nd floor) and enjoy the show (very good) and later go and eat at the restaurant. Pisco sour is most expensive we've seen on our trip (14 S/. + 28% tax of course), but they give you complementary drink and a cookie (?!) when checking-in. Rooms are very clean (as you would expect), beds very comfortable (as you would expect). Service is great. Breakfast is very good (if not included will set you back about $15 pp, yes USD). Location is so so. Close to Miraflores circle (and souvenir markets), but far from the ocean and Larcomar (nothing special). Take a collectivo to the center, 20 times cheaper than taxi (~1.5 S/.) and what an experience!
