I enoyed my meal in this restaurant.
Eating paiche or cecina and drinking good cocona juice gave a good taste to my jungle experience.

Great local atmosphere. Enjoyed the walk there from the main center. I passed through poorer neighborhoods where people leave their doors windows open (like cuba) and enjoying seeing the local vibe. I got the Juanes and tacaho. They weren't warm and lots of rice, not a lot of taste. Maybe the fish there is a better option.

We liked this place. We were the only tourists there. Very reasonably priced. Head's up, all the food is brown, fried, and/or steamed. Lots of yucca and plantains. It was pretty salty but tasted good. Juice was delicious.

A very popular and therefore jammed place with local folk, Blanquita's specializes in local dishes and does a very good job with them. It's a bit out of the way from the tourist district, not within walking distance, but a kidney-jouncing ride in a moto-taxi will get you there.

Decor and ambience are not the attractions: it's the food that draws the crowds. Low-priced, good service, but it's sweltering inside! Non-Spanish-speakers might have difficulty with the menu. Outside, the place does a huge take-out business. Worth a visit for good eats and some local color.
