The people working there are very friendly and caring. The rooms are nice but can get cold at night , so remember to use the kerosene placed on the window sills. Go for early showers to make sure there is warm water. If you have a chance volunteer in the school supported by the hostel , it's a great experience and the kids are amazing.

Before Hostal Magico, I had never before stayed in a hostel, let alone been to Peru. I was surprised at how welcoming and friendly the culture of Cusco is, the epitome of which I found to be inside the doors of Hostal Magico.

Aside from the homey social environment, there are likewise high standards of living--a communal kitchen, complimentary WiFi, computer, and television use, a wonderfully layed out communal courtyard and eating space, hot showers (most of the time), comfortable beds, among other things a foreigner might not expect in this far-away-land.

Rest assured, though, you are not isolated from real the Peruvian culture. The Hostal is close to the heart of Cusco, where you can find the Plaza de Armas, Plaza de San Francisco, food markets, many restaurants, among other things. Although Hostal Magico's amenities and environment was definitely worth the small costs, the location of the hostel makes it invaluable for anyone who loves to immerse themselves in a foreign culture.

What can I say? I stayed in the hostel for almost three months, lved every second of it. Amazing place, both the guests, the staff, the rooms, the courtyard. It's like its own beautiful little world. On top of that, it's part of a social project so the profits help a local school. Could it be better really? Go there.

Hostal Magico is based just outside the old part of the city and the place most tourists want to see within streets of white washed walls. It has large communal spaces for meeting people and is one of the firndliest hostels I have stayed in. Showers are almsot always hot which is something of a bonus and the beds have plenty of covers for keeping the warm in when there over winter. It also has an equipped kitchen that allows you to prepare food. Deffinatleyu worth a stay for those on a budget who want a friendly atmopsphere and the chance to meet new people.

This was more than just a hostel to me, was the clue of my great experience travelling alone in Cusco.

The hostel is clean, cozy, comfortable and has a great friendly stuff. It has a great enviroment and colourful decoration. Clean and comfortable bathrooms, free internet with computers available for the guests, a comfortable kitchen, a living room with ty with cable tv and lots of dvds to watch.

Regardind the enviroment, most of the guests are volunteers in the social proyect you support with the money you pay for staying, so there's a great and friendly enviroment. People are always open and outgoing, and although everyone makes friends with everyone, it's always quiet at night, it's a rule, so you won't have trouble with resting.

It's about 6 blocks away from the main scuare, so it's quite ok, you can walk everywhere and in case is late night you can always take a taxi, that are really cheap over there (3 soles at most).

They also have loundry service and conection with spanish school if you wanna study spanish. And the proyect you suport by staing is just around the corner, so you can always go and see what is it about, and why not, became a volunteer (the minimun time required is one week, from monday to friday).

I totally recomend you to stay there! It was a great experience and I can't wait to be back to this cozy and lovely enviroment.
