Came to this small and charming sushi restaurant on a Thursday night at opening time (7pm) for dinner. It filled up quite rapidly after that, as there is seating for 7 inside and a couple of tables outside, with heaters. Many of their offerings have cream cheese and if you've never had sushi with cream cheese before, don't let that put you off - they make a delicious combo! We ordered the saltado (cooked beef) rolls, tuna and salmon sashimi, seared tuna nigiri, salmon and avocado maki and the crab/prawn claws with panko crumbs. It was all delicious but I particularly liked the seared tuna nigiri. I recommend ordering the "chef's suggestions" marked with a star rather than the usual Japanese items like gyoza etc. The restaurant has a lovely warm atmosphere and service was friendly though I think our limited Spanish proved a little challenging at times (they do have an English menu though). Cost-wise it is more expensive than many of the local restaurants but that is fairly typical of good quality sushi and the meal, at 40000 CLP (less than $60 USD), was hardly pricey given the style and quality of food. As it is a small restaurant, it would be prudent to arrive closer to opening time especially if there are more than two of you. I highly recommend Panko if you are wanting a little break from Peruvian/Chilean/Mediterranean style feasts!

Dear Caro:

First of all, thank you for your comments here with the community, and we are honored to have been able to please you on your visit.

Our restaurant also, serves what is called Nikkei food, which is not a "local cuisine", but, on the other hand, the fusion of peruvian and japanese food and influences, and is a renowned culinary movement around the world.

If you have the opportunity to visit us again, we hope this pointer may give you, and other future clients, a great insight on our restaurant.

Warm regards,
PR Management

We stopped by 5 minutes before closing time - the Staff were very friendly and took us in with no fuss or rush to get out. They made us up some very tasty and fresh sushi which was delicious. An excellent place for a quick light meal.

What a good sushi place: Not huge, a small indoor room with only 8 places and outdoor a couple of seatings more (not for bad weather!), the service somewhat slow (maybe a new waitress?), but finally arriving 4 differente rolls, amazingly decorated and presented with sauce and a really impressive ginger (never tasted a ginger like that!). Texture wonderful and amazingly tasty. Ordered desert and an esperesso, which are coming form the peruvian restaurant directly at the side and which is co-owned. Go there for the sushi, it is really worth it.

Tough to find places open on Sunday's but Bella Vista is always happening. This place has a fun menu with a lot of variety. The edamame was super yum with a twist on traditional edamame. The rolls were creative. The favors are amazing and the sushi quality is high. Although the salmon I found fresher than the tuna, all was delicious. The Pisco sours could not have been more perfect The atmosphere is really nice but it is aire libre. They have heat lamps if it's cold. Really great place we will hit again if we are in the neighborhood. Staff and service also fun and friendly and very efficient. We were in and out in less than an hour, hard to come by in Chile. Also open early so good for westerners.

We love Japanese food and Panko was a must try for us. This is not your average Japanese restaurant. The food has been modified to suit local taste.

They didn't have miso soup or Edmami which was disappointing. We tried their sashimi and sushi. Both were lovely, very nicely presented. It is on the sweeter side.

We didn't try their cream cheese rolls. Just sound bit weird.

Service is slow as the owner owns two restaurant. You will find the waitress have to manage both places. We were very hungry as they send food to the other place as well

I wouldn't recommend coming here if you wanted a quick meal. Took 30mins to just get our first course.

Dear Chen:

First of all, thank you for your comments here with the community, and we are honored to have been able to please you on your visit.

We would like to clear up a few misconceptions on your comments, and correct a frew issues mentioned.

First and foremost, each of our restaurants have their own staff and "world", not habing to manage any other place but it's own. A specific situation happened that had to be resolved, but it was a huge exception on this case.

Our restaurant also, serves what is called Nikkei food, which is not a "local cuisine", but, on the other hand, the fusion of peruvian and japanese food and influences, and is a renowned culinary movement around the world.

If you have the opportunity to visit us again, we hope these few pointers may give you, and other future clients a great insight on our restaurant.
