We happened to go there with some friends on a special night for the restaurant, featuring some dishes that are not generally available. Those we ordered were very good, if not too authentic. The dish based on abalone (locos) was excellent, and the vegetarian dish was not bad. I happened to order a dessert of maracuya (passion fruit), billed as a bavarois but I would say it was a flan. Either way, it was excellent. The decor was interesting and agreeable. The menu was somewhat confusing with most dishes named only in Spanish.

Called to order to take away and ordered 2 noodle dishes for my daughters who are picky, so requested just plain noodles (Also ordered 4-5 other dishes without any special requests). Made the BIG mistake of not asking prices. When i picked up they charged $5.500 per noodle dish even though that was actually the full price, with veg. When I questioned this/asked politely why they didnt offer a discount, the cashier said 'thats what the system says' in a voice that transmitted that she couldn't care less. A shame because this used to be a ok place but with service like this ill never go back, they were never that great and i dont like being ripped off.

Our China Village Restaurant, located in La Reina, has always been concerned on providing the best products with the finest quality and at a reasonable price to our customers. This has been frequently appreciated by our clients, and also from specialised reviews, who have given us the award for the best restaurant that combines the quality of a product and charge a convenient price for it.

We are truly sorry for the situation Ms. Paula has mentioned. Though, we want to clear out that the dish of chaumin noodles with vegetables, that she ordered, has a value of $5.500 per dish. Our chaumin noodles are home made, 100% egg, firstly cooked with vapour and then fried by a wok with sauce and a variety of vegetables. Many of our customers value this dish. Ms. Paula ordered this dish with no vegetables, so we compensated it with more plain chaumin noodles, never having as a policy to discount the value of the vegetables if they weren't ordered for a personal reason.

Regarding the poor treatment from our staff, we want to clarify that the person who attended her was only explaining to her that we could not discount the value of the vegetables, as it is not part of our protocol. We did not treat her poorly in any way.

We strongly believe it is essential for us to inform these situations, as our main interest is to provide our clients the best products at a reasonable price.

Sincerely,
La Reina China Village Administration

A quite typical chinese restaurant, you'll find the usual suspects in chop suey, sweet and sour chicken, meats and sides like chow fan rice, spring rolls and wontons. Although you probably won't find anything too different to what you're probably used to - if you live in the west - it is done very well, not too salty and quite tasty.
The restaurant itself though I don't find too attractive, particularly service isn't good, so the last few meals that I've had from this place have been takeout.
All-in-all, when I think of chinese food to eat home, it's the first place that pops in my mind (even though they don't have delivery)
