This hike was incredible and probably the best thing I've done in recent memory. A group of 5 of us did this private tour with EcoChile. We got picked up by our guide, Tomas, and driver, Sebastian, and drove to the Cajon del Maipo region where, after a quick little breakfast and some hot chocolate, we were on our way.
The bulk of this tour involved an exhilarating 2-hour hike up to/from the Laguna de los Patos for a gorgeous and amazingly scenic lunch. Disclaimer, this is definitely more of an intermediate-advanced hike - I'm more on the beginner side so I had some struggles, but Tomas is a great guide and helped me through the harder parts.
After lunch we hiked back down and spent some time at the hot springs, then had a little picnic, complete with wine, at the stunning Embalse del Yeso.
I would highly recommend this tour, just be advised that this isn't a beginners hike and you should make sure you have good hiking shoes. Even though I'm a hiking-newbie, I would still do this hike again as the scenery and the feeling of accomplishment you get after trumps any uncertainty. :)
We loved this tour and our guide! I can't wait to return to Chile and do some more EcoChile trips. Gracias!

Thank Julia W

5 of us did a private Andes landscape tour with EcoChile this week. It was a new offering and we were the first to experience it! Beautiful excursion and involved a 2 hour hike to the Laguna de los Patos in the Cajon Del Maipo Region, lunch, swimming at the hot springs and a picnic to end the day at the famous Embalse del Yeso. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who wants an active component to seeing the Andes mountains. Tomas was an excellent guide and very knowledgeable about the area and the wildlife - and his sidekick Sebastian was a great driver. I would only caution that this is not a hike for beginners - intermediate to advanced conditions so plan to have experience if you want to do this trip. We really enjoyed the day and having a local guide!

We did the Small group El Morado trek and hot springs day tour. We were picked up at our hotel on time by a very energetic and chatty Felipe. The trek was a bit strenuous but the guides did not rush you and ensured everyone was hydrated and ok. The lunch was great and plentiful. The views during the entire hike were amazing. The hot springs were fantastic and not crowded at all. The wine and cheese was delicious and the location was perfect. The tour guides, Felipe and Alejandra, and our driver Sebastian were all extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the country. Would highly recommend this tour!
