5 of us did a private Andes landscape tour with EcoChile this week. It was a new offering and we were the first to experience it! Beautiful excursion and involved a 2 hour hike to the Laguna de los Patos in the Cajon Del Maipo Region, lunch, swimming at the hot springs and a picnic to end the day at the famous Embalse del Yeso. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who wants an active component to seeing the Andes mountains. Tomas was an excellent guide and very knowledgeable about the area and the wildlife - and his sidekick Sebastian was a great driver. I would only caution that this is not a hike for beginners - intermediate to advanced conditions so plan to have experience if you want to do this trip. We really enjoyed the day and having a local guide!

We did the Small group El Morado trek and hot springs day tour. We were picked up at our hotel on time by a very energetic and chatty Felipe. The trek was a bit strenuous but the guides did not rush you and ensured everyone was hydrated and ok. The lunch was great and plentiful. The views during the entire hike were amazing. The hot springs were fantastic and not crowded at all. The wine and cheese was delicious and the location was perfect. The tour guides, Felipe and Alejandra, and our driver Sebastian were all extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the country. Would highly recommend this tour!

I would suggest everyone to have Felipe as your guide! He was great and so full of energy and very attentive to those in my group who weren't able to keep up as well.

Our driver (Felip) and guide (Ben) picked us up at a Santiago hotel on time and were very energetic about taking us all on the excursion. It was a long drive, but Ben gave us a lot of information about the areas we were traveling through along the way. Ben was very considerate about taking bathroom breaks and also about giving us a selection of items for a picnic lunch. The driver stayed with the vehicle the whole time, making it possible for us to leave personal items in the van. The hike we took was manageable and we saw some great views. The hot springs was great except that the changing areas were a little crude. Toward the end of the trip, we made a stop to look at a view of the mountains and while we were taking pictures, Ben and Felip set up a table full of Chilean wine and food products for us to sample. Very nice surprise and tasty too! All-in-all a great experience.

We toured the Andes mountain both by horse and by foot using EcoChile. You have to be fit to do both tours, so be aware of that. We also had a trip to the coast town of Zapallar that I highly recommend. The advantage of EcoChile was using local people as the guides. The price was higher than Turistic but the quality of the tours was much higher than expected. .
