Description: Located on level three of The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore, the name Colony alludes to the seafarious voyage that the British took to travel to the East Indies for trade and commerce in the late eighteenth century. Vintage maps and postcards which adorn the walls and decorative ornate leafing evoke the nostalgia of a bygone era, while eight different open concept kitchens, coupled with 'live' culinary showmanship, will bring diners on a multi-sensory journey through Singapore's heritage cuisines including Malaysian, Indonesian, Indian, Chinese and Western, with dishes that reflect the flavours of the nation's rich colonial past. Colony can seat a maximum of 260 persons and boasts a dynamic space that can be configured to accommodate groups of various sizes. The restaurant will offer breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner daily, and vintage Champagne brunch on Sundays.

The Colony has a lovely ambience and vast breakfast spread. Amongst the warm food options, go for the nasi lemak with otak, crispy anchovies, peanuts and sambal. I skipped the congee but liked the teochew noodles made fresh on the spot with springy fish balls and fish cakes and it comes with a nice broth and lots of toppings to choose from. There is vegetables dal and chicken curry to go with the dosa, idlyappam and prata is ok. The sausages, grilled tomatoes and crispy hash browns were nice. The made to order omelette is ok, I think the bulls eye would be a better option with the nasi lemak. The rest are worth skipping but save space for the ice cream. They offer assorted flavors of chestnut, coconut, strawberry, chocolate and vanilla. The wait for the freshly made waffles and banana pancakes is very long so it would be nice having two staff manning this busy station. The breakfast buffet close at 1030am so go early to sample the vast options. The staff are friendly, professional and the plates are cleared quickly. I like the freshly brewed pot of mint tea served and masala tea option at the Indian food section. Vegetarians have a good selection of poha, dal, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms, salads, yogurt, assorted bread and soba noodles. If you eat egg, there is also eggs Benedict. Service is quick.

Was my fist buffet after a long time. Thanks to the excellent service esp to Sheng Jun, though a part-timer was so professional in his serve, always serving with a humble attitude and a smile, though we were such a rowdy crowd.
Zi ling also was so prompt in my first coffee when I told her I needed a cup of coffee to wake me up.
I was lost to the toilet and a young housekeeper promptly offered to guide me to the door- step

Super excellent serviceAmd not forgetting the mango pudding with the secret bird nest in it!

It was ok. Looked great but the food was kind of bland and the desserts were just OK. I won’t be coming back.

We had a wonderful dinner and were hosted by the delightful MJ who never failed to engage with us professionally and personally throughout the evening.

Food and service was top-notch as always with Colony and I look forward to the next visit in the near future.
