McDonald's is pretty much McDonald's the world over (with a few culturally-specific changes to some menu items). But this McDonald's is ideally located on the river, which makes for a great setting to what is probably not going to be your most exciting meal/snack. After a long day, we decided not to go into a restaurant for a sit down meal. We ended up with takeaway from McDonald's, but ate sitting on the nearby steps leading to the water as the sun went down. This made for a thoroughly pleasant evening, although the McDonald's itself is in a gorgeous nearly Santa Fe-style building which would be pleasant enough to eat in as well. The only issue we had though (which we also found in two other chain fast food places in Singapore) was their apparent need to put EVERYTHING in a plastic bag (e.g. a single soft drink cup was given it's own little plastic bag). Our tip is, for the sake of the environment, please let staff know when you can do without the plastic bags!
