Owner description: St Andrew’s Cathedral is one of Singapore’s most treasured works of architecture. Gazetted as a national monument on 1973, you’ll stand in awe at its majestic facade, with extended pinnacles and a glossy white exterior. Take a coffee break and enjoy our free wifi at The Cathedral Cafe which is conveniently located beside the City Hall MRT entrance (North Bridge Road).

This Cathedral is just about the City Hall MRT station. A real gem. Beautifully preserved, as with everything in Singapore.

Cathedral was built by Indian convict labourers; it's an oasis of colonial architecture amidst Singapore's often-glorious modern architecture. Great that some of the old buildings have been so well preserved.

One of the few remaining Pre-war Churches in Singapore. The Architect is beautiful and the location is in the City. Good way to spend a quiet morning.

Since being to Singapore numerous times now for a business related task, I usually have a bit of time in between to visit and see a number of sites around the country. This time however, I decided I'd stay close and within the city limits and this time, chose a catholic church to view. This place was very impressive was quite amazed by the cool architecture that awaited inside.
The altar area as well as the stained glass, columns, and ceilings were all so intricate (and touched up with flat screens posted on most of the columns), and I've never actually been inside that many Catholic places of worship with this one being I think only the second one in my life.
A very cool place to see and there is no fee to go inside, look around and take pictures.
Certainly a cool and worthwhile site to see if you're in Singapore and want to see something a little bit off the regular tourist track!
* The best thing too is that it's only about a five minute walk from the City Hall MRT interchange stop. So you basically just look for the exit sign that says St. Andrew's Cathedral", follow the stairs up to the ground level, and then walk directly left along the sidewalk for about five minutes. You'll see the cathedral too right as you come out of the station and the entrance is not far from that point.
*Just be aware that although it's open during the week, there's no air conditioning nor fans on inside and it did get a bit hot even at quarter to 11 in the morning.
