This wetlands reserve provided peaceful walks and the chance to spot some wildlife such as monitor lizards, spiders and various species of birds. Its worth visiting for a couple of hours and when I visited in late february on a friday morning, was very quiet.

This place is like out of Singapore! We spotted lots of animals, fishes, birds including otters. Lovely place to get close to nature, definitely feels out of Singapore!

Beware of the animals though. Initially a bit of a nerve wracking experience. After that you will enjoy. Quite far though, and difficult to commute from there if you don't have your own ehicle.

I went alone expecting this place to be a quick walk and not much more than that; what I got was a fantastic experience that took me 5 hours to complete. I took all the trails and went at a leisurely pace. I also got very lucky as I only saw 2 other groups during my whole walk. Bring insect repellant and a lots of water. The walk is enjoyable and the sights are quite unique. Note that there are warning signs for crocs. Also getting a taxi back to the local MRT station was a challenge (I ended up getting a lift with a security guard as the place closed at 6pm back to the MRT station.)

If you are into birding, this is the place to be. Many migratory birds stopover at Singapore and in this wetland reserve. There are also estuarine crocodiles if you look hard enough. Mudskippers can be seen in the mangroves. A great science/ecology outing.
