At 1st yes its cheap and has free breakfast inclusive. But check it out first because you cant eat anything in their breakfast! Its awful. Very awful I tell you. I wanted to cancel my stay but im here already. Unlucky me. So okay about service? It sucks bigtime! No cleanliness. No changing of bed sheets? Comforter? You have to call?! Is this standard?! What the hell! Plus the housekeeping people is not even nice talk of knocking and asking before entering the room. This housekeeping just knocked and entered as if we gave her permission already. There's a lot of cockroaches all over the room okay fine. But the worst part of it?!!!!!!!!! There is a freaking rat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am decided to check out! I warned you do not come here in this hotel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only advantage: the hotel is close by to the MRT station Farrer Park. The rest is a nightmare and the worst I have had the worst stay of my life!

Lobby (is there any? Must have missed it) has two chairs and is dirty and filthy! The elevator is old, rundown and slow. There is no sign that there is a 2nd elevator (whose condition is not better). The carpet on the hallways are dirty, smelly and seems to have never been cleaned since the hotel was opened. The whole place has an incredible stench.

The hotel is occupied almost exclusively by Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi nationals. The reception area is small, dirty and smelly. There is a small type of street cafe in front of the hotel which looks like a garbage dump of the hotel.

the rooms are small, filthy and dirty. The towels are dirty, the bathroom are not cleaned properly, no hot water is available, the faucets are dirty and are leaking. The whole hotel smells bad and the carpet in the hallways are filthy and seem to have never been cleaned.

The TV reception is not even cable and only on a few Indian speaking channels - if ever it works. The TV set's remote control is missing.

The air-condition in the rooms is nosy and can either be turned on or off, there is no functioning temperature control for them. The beds are hard and are good for fakirs but not for normal people.

The breakfast room in the basement of the hotel is so bad that you can't even enter it. Even the breakfast is included you will never take it cause the place is another dump!

And the worst is the baggage storage room! This is a garbage dump which can not be locked with dirt stored there together with old bed sheets etc. etc.

In short: Never ever enter this hotel better sleep in the streets or the MRT of Singapore they are cleaner and you get a service.

Room Tip: royalpark hotel across the street

I had stayed in this-claremont Hotel, singapore during the month of december, 2012 with my family of four. The location is excellent, Plenty of Good Indian vegetarian hotels just opposite the Hotel, Easy access to the MRT station nearby, Taxi stand is just across the road, The breakfast of cereal and bread butter jam was ok, Good coffee. Comfortable Family room facing an excellent green ground with a large window. The bath room was just the basic,
BUT the room overall just met the basic requirement of 8 hrs of night sleep essential for tourists like me. I feel this is a good hotel to stay with family in a family room with four beds.
However, the property needs better upkeep and maintenanance by the Management which they seem to neglect, I hope they improve in the immediate future. If you plan your trip on your own without dependence of the hotel staff, then this hotel location is very good..A safe place to stay with family..but dont expect any extra luxury.,just the basic..B.RamKumar, India.

Room Tip: Family room facing the open green ground with a large widow on third floor, in which i stayed for 5 nights..

I had read many bad reviews here before I made the booking. I thought I could tolerate, considering the good location and the breakfast provided. Not until the very first moment I stepped into the 'lobby' (u call that a lobby?), went inside the room and the bathroom. I knew I had made a wrong choice. Gosh!! I should have listened to the reviews here. Everything they had said here is absolutely true. Not to mention about the dripping air-cond water, but I had to spray my precious perfume every each time we went into the toilet. Luckily we brought the portable aromatheraphy diffuser and essential oils to purify the air a bit.
Trust the reviews here because I learned my mistake.
