“Modern, Small, and Overpriced”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 December 2011

This is a 4 star (don't think they pretend to be budget) hotel with modern, clean (at least mine was), albiet tiny rooms. As Singapore can be an expensive place to find a decent hotel, the concept of a hotel supplying modern, compact, reasonably priced rooms is a great idea. The only trouble with the Porcelain Hotel is that the rooms are not reasonably priced. In fact the rack rates advertised on their website would make Gerry Harvey blush.

Having said that I was happy with my stay. I stayed in a deluxe queen room which are new and slightly larger than the older rooms. The size of the room didn't bother me too much as I was staying alone. However if you are a couple with a bit of luggage, then you might be stretched for room. The staff are quite friendly and efficient. I had a small issue with my TV and someone came up to fix it straight away.

I would only stay here again if I received a heavily discounted rate. If you can book ahead of time, you can find similarly rated hotels but with normal sized rooms, for less money.

I stay there for 3 days and 2 nights. Upon checkin i was required to have 100 singapore dollars deposit from my credit card which was not told when i booked online. The room is tiny. not much space to place your luggage if you have like a big case. good is that tea pack and instant coffee is supplied once per day. Front office staff were ok. not very friendly not very bad. No breakfast provided. but free in room wifi. anyway around 320 singapore dollars spent for 2 nights there are not worthwhile for me. actually upon my booking the rates for 2 nights were 230 something but after tax and everything the rate hiked to 320. very disappointed.. no other choice as that hotel is nearest one to the place i needed to go. .but location is good nearby MRT. By the way, i am not whether the hotel got swimming pool or not. but i didnt see

Very disappointed with the super small size of the room. When we saw the standard room, we very speechless. Dark, no place to move let alone to sit. We had to jump on to the bed. Immediate feeling was to get another room in another hotel. Only consolation was it was near to MRT station.Definitely not adviseable for family. Room rate expensive for budget hotel and its size.It was not a hit with me and i would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

We stayed there for 2 nights last week. The location is excellent. Very close by the Exit A & E of China Town. The service is okay and I like the feel of the decoration but when I entered the expected tiny room it was smelly may be because the windows have not been opened for a while. (Very difficult to open anyway). We were very tired so didn't make a fuss and felt alseep. The next day when we came back late, I found used tissue paper on the window bay and one the pillow had brown stains on it. I didn't say anything as I was only staying for that one more night. But a beautifully decorated hotel with good location shouldn't be wasted.

Room Tip: I stayed in the superior rooms but not clean...

I have just stayed at the Porcelain Hotel in Singapore and really im confused with what to write! I would not like to criticise this place too much, the staff are superb and the place is in a fantastic location HOWEVER.......The rooms are tiny.....SUPER SMALL!! I would not recomend that anyone with kids stay here as there simply isnt enough room for more than 1 person in the room. The hotel has no kitchen facilities but the area has many food outlets serving various Asian foods, there are no western food outlets near by that i could find. The hotel is made up of shop houses all knocked into one building, clean and well kept but the corridors are like a maze and trying to find your room along the dark passageways is very hard.
Would i stay there again? im sorry to say no! purely and simply because it is so small.
