We stayed here for four nights with our three young children (7, 5 and 17m) as a stop over on the way home from the UK. We had requested adjoining rooms but when they were not available on the first night, they kindly put us in a villa with a private plunge pool. It was gorgeous although not very child-friendly with the pool and there were quite a few mosquitoes (despite nets).
The following nights we were in adjoining rooms which were not as fancy but more child friendly and still very nice.
The three pools are all lovely. The sky pool is particularly spectacular and lovely at night. The other pools, an adult one and a children's one, were also nice. The pool bar was never opened while we were there but would be very nice for a drink.
The staff were friendly and our kids loved the free Singapore snacks in the foyer each day.
The restaurant, Shutters, is great at night and we had dinner there twice. Good kids' menus and the Singaporean food, especially the fried rice with XO sauce, is lovely. But it was somewhat underwhelming for breakfast. Very expensive for what it is and not very interesting choices. We ate breakfast there once but didn't bother going back again.
But overall, a great choice for a Sentosa hotel

Room Tip: Rooms close to Universal Studios would be loud. We could hear screaming from the rollercoasters from when the park opened.

Decided to take a week’s holiday in Singapore staying at the Amara Sanctuary therefore allowing us to relax away from the city. Loved Singapore and the Amara Sanctuary surpassed my expectations having read some previous reviews here.
We arrived to a warm reception and check in was simple. We were staying in a standard deluxe room in the same building as the reception and was impressed by the large size of the room and its amenities. All you’d expect such as tv, coffee making facilities, iron and board, fridge, safe, air con, hairdryer, bath tub with shower and a separate shower, and bottled water.
A very large comfortable bed and blackout curtains helped us sleep longer than we should’ve!

The hotel has extensive well maintained tropical gardens with several swimming pools available. I personally preferred the sky pool on the top floor of our block which overlooks the bay. At the pool were clean towels, bottled water and an ice machine.

Easy to get to from Changi Airport, a standard taxi fare was only S$22. Sentosa has 2 free bus services which have a stop only 5 mins from the hotel, and the hotel itself has a timetabled shuttle bus to Harbour Front which has a big shopping mall, restaurants and an underground (MRT) station. The beach was less than 10 mins walk down a steepish path, but worth it. Great for kids there too.

The quality of the food at Shutters, the hotel restaurant, was good though the menu isn’t very inspiring and we preferred to go to the Harbour Front. The staff at the front desk were always very helpful and friendly.

Thank you to all the staff for making our holiday even more enjoyable!

My Husband and I came to Singapore for the F1 weekend we stayed at the Amara. We stayed in a standard room which was spacious and the bathroom was lovely it had a massive tub. The pool was on the same floor as our room it has great views of the sea and a spa.

The staff were friendly and helpful. We only ate at the restaurant once for lunch the food is well prepared and fresh but we found the menu is quite limited. Saying that you are a stones throw from the Sentosa entertainment complex and you have a great choice of food and restaurants.

There is a bus stop just out side of the resort where you can catch the free bus service all over the Island. They have a shuttle service to Viva City. There you can enjoy shopping and restaurants. The train service leaves from Vivo City to get all over Singapore is fantastic once you get the hang of it.

We enjoyed our stay at Amara and have already booked to go back again next year:).

Stayed with them a few years ago, the service was better than now. Went there quite late and was turn off by the reception, the person in charge of getting my room ready did not check his system properly and I have to repeat myself several times that I booked the room for 2 days even though I booked it like a few days ago but Im sure he could have checked it instead of me reminding him. Next I told him that it was a wedding anniversary date and requested for an upgrade or late check out, the reply from him was too many guest have checked in so could not get an upgrade.

He said that late check out have to check with his superior so I waited like about 15 minutes, then he say okay. I was so disappointed in this kind of service. Ask for a view to face the sea and the response was they do not have king size bed in the room facing the sea.

Will not stay there again. Only thing is the place was still like before. a Greenery and comforting place to stay in Sentosa.

Never again to celebrate my wedding anniversary with wife and kids, totally spoil the mood.=(

This hotel was BIG disappointment all the way from the arrival at check-in over the lacking introduction to the tired facilities to the corporate rooms.

This hotel does not live up to the pictures that are posted on the hotels own website or on booking websites; the decor and facilities is very tired and in desperate need of an update. The staff does not to engage unless dealing with complaints, when they are however appropriate.

Overall the visit was very disappointing and lead to an early check-out after the first night with a refund. There are plenty of good hotels in Singapore and this one is over-charging compared to the standard so it is hard to recommend.
