I and my wife stayed Jardin Secret for 5 nights. It is a new hotel, which is very nicely planned. Living room and bathroom are very functional and clean. Rooms are equipped with wired Internet connection. There was supposed to be a bar in our room, but it was missing (not critical). We got 2 free bottles of water every day, and oxygen flasks were available in the room for small charge.
Hotel restaurant serves hefty breakfast and dinner buffet, accompanied by nice evening entertainment program. The food is 70% Asian, but quite diverse. About 90% of guests are Chinese. Staff's knowledge of English is limited, but we always found a solution. There is a nice inner 'jardin', which provides nice opportunities to relax and enjoy fountains and a 'piece of nature'. Hotel shop has a good selection of souvenirs.
Have to say that we experienced problems with AC/ventilation: room AC did not cool the air (was not critical, so we did not bother) and corridor ventilation was very noisy during the night. I would also love to relocate the hotel 3-4 km East - closer to Potala and downtown. Taxi is an affordable option to travel from the hotel, but you may not always want that additional hassle.
Anyway, we found Jardine Secret a good alternative to Four Points and Brahmaputra, where we could not get in, even booking a month in advance.More
