I expected the stadium called Hong Kong stadium to be MUCH bigger - but its suprisingly intimate and still impressive looking. Sitting in the lower stands make you feel close enough to see the players like they are on tv! you can even lean over the railings and get autographs and handshakes as the players walk pass :)

The stadium is littered with toilets - like literally every 5m - so there is no need to worry about dirty or overpacked toilets - even during an event like the Rugby Sevens - its clean and well presented.

There are food and alco/non-alco drink counters EVERYWHERE - like literally every 5m :P They sell fries and hotdogs, and SPARE RIBS for HKD$60 - totally worth it according to my hubby ;) Jug of beer for about HKD$200.

Importantly itll take about HKD30 to take a cab from Central to HK Stadium but costs only HKD5 by MTR from Central. It is three stops away from the Central MTR station at causeway bay. When you exit, turn left up a hill and keep going straight and follow the signs - you will never miss it! :)

This stadium was the base for the barclays asia trophy,as soon as we got out of out transport and looked up at the design of the stadium we was in for a treat.
Seating, toilets and concourse area was very clean, didnt think much of the food in there best to eat before you get to the stadium.
Atmosphere was fantastic, view was wicked and cant wait to visit it again!

The most international event of the year. Really a festival for all to gather and cheer and get crazy for the sports!

First, its very difficult to get your hands on tickets for the rugby sevens tournament here in Hong Kong. Tickets are usually snapped up in less than 10 minutes every year and many people are left disappointed due to not being able to secure tickets. Needless to say the ex-pats, local sports fans and foreign visitors alike have a great time during this annual tournament each March. All matches are also televised on local television and are shown at most pubs and establishments that broadcast sporting events, resulting in a 'sports awareness' and festive atmosphere during this last weekend in March when the HK Rugby Sevens is generally held each year.

The Hong Kong Rugby sevens is a highly recommended annual event. By end of March the weather is quite nice, not too hot, not too cold! Its just perfect for spending long hours at the Stadium or even in the pubs watching with a house for of supporters from around the globe.

This is a great time and a great reason to be in Hong Kong!

Hong Kong stadium was excellent! It can be reached easily by a 15 minute walk from the Causeway Bay MTR station. Access into the ground is a little congested, with only one end of the stadium as an entry/exit point. When I went to the ground, there was a queue a couple of hundred metres long, but it was moving quickly so there was no real problems.
The stadium itself is great, with good vantage points and a clear view of the ground. Even up in the upper tier I was not too far from the action on-field.
Amenities were clean and plentiful, and staff were great.
I was particularly impressed by the great view at the end of the ground, which is left open - a lovely evening almost distracted me from the game... Almost!
Hong Kong Stadium is a great place to watch a game and provides an unusual view of the island that many tourists might miss otherwise. Well worth a visit!
