“Pinoys Everywhere”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2012

Stumbled upon a Filipino Store "Mang Ambo" with plenty of Pinoys coming in & out. I bought nescafe 3 in 1. Owner is nice & friendly. Bars & red lights lined the street. Must be a place to have fun.

“More to it than its "Notorious" Reputation”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2012

Yes Wan Chai is "Notorious" for its girly bars and "working girls" but if thats not your "cup of tea" don't avoid it. Go earlier and settle into one of the wonderful Pubs and or restaurants in the area. There are so many great places to relax with friends and enjoy a great dinner at a reasonable price [cheaper than Soho]. Yes when you pas by the bars with the ladies out front simply tell them no when they ask you if you want a beer. Don't worry...your not the first person to tell them "no". Besides there are plenty of guys behind you that will say "Yes". So don't be a "stick in the mud" and go out and enjoy Wan Chai!

“Old and New”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 June 2012

In this district old mixes with the new. But in recent years more and more old things are disappearing giving way to new things, so walk around the district whilst some of the old residential buildings are still there.

“Red Light Distract area, if looking for a hot girl / lady this is the place to go apparently.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 June 2012

Red Light Distract area, if looking for a hot girl / lady this is the place to go apparently. I've been here once with friends and to tell you the truth I didn't see many street walkers / prostitutes as my friends and I were out getting drunk. However, it is meant to be the place to go if your looking for some fun with girls and don't mind paying for it.

“Okay, not amazing for us”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 April 2012

We stayed at the Cosmo hotel (funky little sister next door to the Cosmopolitan) in this n'hood. Our location required a walk to the more interesting shopping district around Times Square mall. We enjoyed this location, but I think we were not in the most exciting part of Wan Chai - which according to the books is more "hot" that what I observed :-)
