“Best Option in Mid Range in HK”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 June 2012

I am a Australian guy - resident in HK for 18 years and I often have friends come to visit.
When they come to HK they always ask me to recommend hotels.
In the mid range bracket I always recommend the LKF hotel by Rhombas.
(My other recommendation in this price range is the Metropark in Causeway Bay)

The LKF is a newish hotel in the boutique market and the rooms are very well appointed.
The staff are young and attentive.

The location is excellent as it straddles Lang Kwai Fong (the touristy bar/restaurant area) and the more posh Wyndham Street (more bars/restaurants).
The popular Soho district is a lazy 3-4 minutes walk away.

It is a little bit far from the MTR (400 metres) but with taxis in HK being such value for money it doesnt really matter - and taxis are readily available.

It has a great restaurant and bar on the 30 F with views over Central to the Harbour.

The only downside is the lack of a pool.

This hotel will not dissapoint.
My wife and I also stay here when we take stay-cations.

Room Tip: The harbour view rooms are great - but more pricey. The mountain view rooms are still great and bri...

LKF is situated in a perfect spot within HK for young travelers who want to enjoy the nightlife, or for business travelers. Most of the upscale bars and many restaurants are just a short walk from LKF. Rooms were big and quite clean. Beds were comfortable. Strangely enough though, it was very difficult to find electrical outlets in the room. None near the beds, a useless one in bathroom. Luckily there was a hidden outlet behind the couch to charge our phones. Gym is tiny - only has 2 treadmills, nothing more. Wireless was not free. Hotel seemed to want to charge us for every little thing they could. The hotel lobby had a rank smell for all 4 days during my stay. This may have been a one time problem, but the lobby literally smelled like a sewer. Despite all of that, I actually would recommend the hotel to friends visiting. Locations is so awesome, and rooms are quite nice overall. With a little focus on service, this hotel could do even better.

This hotel is perfectly located on the ground floor and top floors of the LKF Tower intersecting Hollywood Road and D'Aguilar Street thus defining the Lan Kwai Fung neighborhood and perfectly located in Central. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed. Clean, bright, and beige tones offer a serene spa-like ambience in an otherwise boisterous and rowdy neighborhood full of bars, clubs, and restaurants. Some of the best bars and restaurants are located in the same building including the hotels rooftop bar/restaurant, and Lily and Bloom on the 5th and 6th floors. Directly across Hollywood Road is Dragon-I. The hotel is only a few minutes walk from Landmark, Prince's Buildling, and IFC. I would definitely stay here again. The staff is friendly and accomodating.

I had high expectations about LKF and within 4 hours of checking in I was extremely disappointed and frustrated by many things at this "wanna-be" hip hotel. First, let me tell you what THEY don't tell you anywhere in their information is that the rooms with 2 queen beds are NOT standard queen beds. They might be what American travelers would consider a double. I have lived in Asia for 5 years and traveled extensively and this is the first time I have had a hotel misrepresent the bed size. Note: the elevator system requires a key card and it is a very persnickety system. I was stuck in the elevator because it moved when I got in and when I didn't put my key in the slot, it just stopped. No alarm button available or anything to call for help. Next, a hotel staff member walked into my room at 5:30 am. I am told that the "make up room" light was on but the staff member had no cleaning equipment with him! Strange and alarming! The rooms are dank and musty. Although the location is great, I would keep searching for a better hotel in HK. Don't spoil a great vacation by staying at this subpar (for the price) hotel.

This hotel is perfectly place slap bang in party central in downtown HK. The enterance is unassuming and reveals a relaxed and shiny black interior, with designer sofas and trendy lamps. The rooms are surprisingly spacious, with all mod coms, and extremely modern with excellent use of space - a great bolt hole after the buzz outside in Lan Kwai Fong, papers can be delivered and even the toiletries are lovely. Breakfast was stunning, at the top of the tower with fantastic breathtaking views of HK, it was as near perfect as you can get, superb!

If I returned to HK I'd stop here again! Downside is the reception staff are miserable, and dont stop on the top three floors when the rooftop bar is going at the weekend, you can hear and feel it all night and it is very noisey Room Tip: Upgrade if they offer its worth it for the view alone, but dont stop on the top three floors!

Room Tip: Upgrade if you can to get that little extra space
