It was too foggy at the top to see anything, but the view on the way up was great. I enjoyed the tram ride.

Massively touristy at the top. The walks not too tough. If you're in a budget (like we were) then the 360 bit is a bit of a rip off. Its only about $35 each but you can get the same view (just 60m lower down) for free. Also, we timed our visit with dusk and stayed for the symphony of lights. SOL is better from the Kowloon side but still looks good from the peak. Oh, walking up took us about an hour, its up hill and a little awkward (no signs) but not too tough.

We visited the Peak in April 2012 and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We were very lucky to have a relatively clear day - so we could enjoy the great view. really puts Hong Kong into perspective. The highlight however was walking down the mountain. The steep pathway down the mountain takes you thru lush rainforest and the elite homes of Hong Kong. We then meandered down the hill to the mid escalators - set of escalators that run through SoHo and down to the main shopping preccint. Small tip - if you are on the Red Deckker Bus tour - the walk down does not take you to where you got on the cable car. You will have to find the pick-up spot that is poorly marked!

If you just stop at the concrete mall atop the Peak, then you have missed a lot of Hong Kong Island's beautiful scenery.

There is a walking path which forms as a loop around the Peak. The walk around the loop will take about 45 minutes to one hour. On the other side of the loop, you can watch the serene side of Hong Kong Island -- sparsely-populated neighborhood with bushy hills and white sandy beaches. The walk should be preferably undertaken during daytime.

A great half day in Hong Kong island. Take the tram up and enjoy the shopping. If you don't want to pay to go up to the peak viewing platform great views can be had from the Lions viewing area.

The walk down from the peak is really nice and can finish at the top of the mid-levels shopping area.
