“Club L - fun and nice change to the standard hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 May 2012

Great hotel for location - easy transfer on the airport train to Kowloon and 10mins by taxi to hotel. Lift straight to express check in at Club L on level 36 (not the main foyer). Trouble free, smooth airport transfer.

Outstanding service - very friendly and helpful staff.

Stayed in the Club L rooms. The bed was very very comfortable, large, great products and well thought out amenities which made it a bit unique and fun. The pool was a nice to use after a long flight and had comfy day beds if you wanted to relax and be outside.
The Club L is a lounge, like an extended living room - a bit like Qantas Club (not with the masses), however a version of the Q Club you would prefer with much better service, changing food and not too busy. Credit to the staff, the lounge was kept spotless and they were subtle but welcoming with their service and chat.

Watch out for the annoying men with loud voices that settle in for the "free booze" & talk too loudly on their mobiles. This was late at night and not the fault of the hotel, we were just unlucky that night. Other times were just like like being in a lounge bar and enjoyed the Xbox room and the quiet time looking at the view with a glass of champagne.

I would stay there again if I was in HK. The area has more of a local feel about it so not the full-on expat environment/bars and high end shops like Gucci and Prada - which is my personal preference.

Room Tip: Club L rooms.

I booked this hotel because of strings of good reviews online. Arriving at HK airport, I'd prebooked the hotel shuttle; under impression it's a Langham shuttle, turned out it's a shared shuttle so it went around the town and took so long to get to the hotel.
The hotel lobby is modern and fragrant. Location is nice in heart of Mongkok with the new shopping mall and MTR just below and some restaurants around. However the room is super small and a bit humid. The bathroom is nice however the amenities are pretty minimal for a 5-star hotel. The bed is not comfortable at all, which is disappointing, as you'd expect quality to compensate the small size. I don't think I'll come back here on my next HK visit.

The Langham Place is pretty much the hotel we will always stay at, when in Hong Kong. We've stayed at other 5* brand name hotels at the Tsim Sha Tsui area, but have found this hotel to be the most convenient and comfortable one so far.

Location is a PLUS being within Mongkok (Kowloon), beside the Langham Place Shopping Mall. The hotel is close to the excitement of Mongkok shopping and the wealth of eateries both within Langham Place Shopping Mall and the Sai Yeung Choi Street Mall. A 50m walk from the Shopping Mall is the Hong Kong MRT. There is also an air-conditioned underground passageway leading to the hotel from the MRT.

A Limousine bus can bring you directly to the hotel and will pick you up for HK$210 return. The hotel offers limousine services as well, for a fee.

The room is well appointed, clean and modern. Ours was on the 30th floor, complete with 40" flat screen TV, DVD-player, an iPod dock and even an iPhone 4 use during the stay in Hong Kong (local calls are FREE!). We had a Nespresso machine in the room with a selection of capsules, but not having coffee cups, sugar, milk or teaspoons with was interesting. In room internet and WiFi is FREE to residents. I have to say though that breakfast was a nice and plentiful, but rather bland.

The check-in and check-out experience was warm, friendly and efficient.

Room Tip: Choose one on the higher floor so you can have a bit of a view, beyond Mongkok's rooftops

The title probably does not fully describe the property. The rooms were comparable with other five star properties and the location is great. On numerous visits to Hong Kong I had wanted to stay here and was looking forward to the experience. I was disappointed.

We had advised we would check in at 1500. Our flight was late and we did not get to the hotel until 2030. We were advised our room was not ready yet and had to wait for 30 minutes for another room to be arranged.

The property is described as having a wifi bubble and in other quotes as having free internet. The free internet is on computers in the business area and wifi at the cheapest rate is about $100AUD for 7 days. There are ipads available to borrow which has free internet but I was told there are only five for guests not staying in rooms where free wireless is included.

During the stay I borrowed one of the free ipads. While collecting the ipad a manager at the hotel was having an argument over the phone with a guest. He was pacing about coming in/out of his office and raising his voice in an angry tone which was extremely unprofessional. It appeared he did not care who knew he was having this confrontation.

The breakfast was adequate but did not compare to similar buffets I have had at Westin Hotels.

On the first night and for the duration the bath gel was only half full. It appeared they would refill it half way but only when it was empty.

We kept out toothbrushes in separate glasses in the bathroom but the cleaners would move these during the cleaning and move them to one glass. I didn't appreciate my toothbrush being moved by someone just after cleaning the toilet.

Langham Place used to be great value for money but it's recently become quite pricey. The location is great - near shopping centres, food courts, cinemas, Metro, Ladies Market etc. Rooms are chic, clean & beds are very comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Great for early/late departures as you can use the rooftop spa & showers to freshen up. Staff are friendly, courteous & helpful. Elegant hotel without being pretentious.

Room Tip: All rooms are great but if travelling with a business collegue or family, upgrade to a larger room.
