“Great for Tea lovers”
Reviewed 29 July 2012 via mobile

My wife and I spent an interesting couple of hours st Mingcha yesterday and found it most interesting. Mingcha is a purveyor of fine tea that they source from all over China and the "tea house" located on the 12th floor in an Industrial building is where you get to sample their wares.
Get there by taking the MTR to Tai Koo and exit the station at A1. You will see a gas station directly across the road and the entrance to the building to the right. The Entrance is a long hallway. Continue nearly to the end then turn right into what looks like a carpark. The elevator is to the right on the opposite side to where you entered. Take lift to the 12th floor and ring the bell at the right of the door.
Our guide yesterday was Fiona who did a very good job explaining the teas with no pressure to purchase anything, even though I recommend you do, as the tea is fabulous.

“Forget High Tea...”
Reviewed 28 July 2012

After following their website's extremely helpful, step-by-step walking directions from the subway, my girlfriend and I were warmly greeted by Tomoko, our host for the tea tasting.

As soon as we entered MingCha, it was clear that this company is serious about tea. Yet there is nothing intimidating or snooty about it. Over the course of our two hour tasting, the pace and selection of teas was tuned to our preferences and interests.Throughout, Tomoko described the processes of taking the tea from harvest to brew and we left knowing a lot more. I've attended tea tastings in the past, and I can safely say that this experience topped them all. I highly recommend this for any who enjoy tea.

A word of warning: make sure you have enough room in your suitcase for all the tea you are sure to leave with!

“Relaxing and inspiring journey into the world of Chinese tea! Worthwhile”
Reviewed 26 July 2012

Choose to discover MingCha (instead of being dissuaded by the industrial not so inviting exterior): a wonderful, chic place where you can learn about tea, try different sorts and buy some for yourself or loved-ones. I particularly liked the packaging and the tea pots. White Peony has a delicate touch, indeed.

Many thanks Fiona for the wonderful afternoon and sharing your passion for tea.

Dear Alina,

Great to know that you found the White Peony Supreme brings you the delicate touch.
Remember, this white tea is anti-oxidizing, it helps to cool your body heat particularly suitable to fight against Singapore's hot weather.
Thanks for your compliments, it's my pleasure to have you and Elaine stopped by during your short stay in Hong Kong. Look forward to see you two in near future.

Best regards,
Fiona Wan

“Our 15 year old boy loved it--need I say more?!”
Reviewed 17 July 2012

Our entire family (Mom, Dad, college daughter & high school son) thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon at MingCha. Vivian and her staff were gracious and welcoming. Fiona and Tomoko did a fabulous job of educating us on Chinese tea and Chinese culture. We spent a very relaxing two hours sampling teas and just enjoying the vibe. It reminded us of one of our favorite visits to a Tuscan winery. We are home now, and we are enjoying our MingCha teas, prepared in the traditional fashion...well, ok, maybe we microwave the water...but never the tea!

“Great experience!”
Reviewed 9 July 2012

After arriving with the taxi we weren't sure if that was the right place - an industrial complex in Taikoo - but don't hesistate! Inside that building is the wonderful MING CHA - a great spot for tasting, drinking and learning about tea.
We had a wonderful morning there with a lot of information about the teas and how to make a good tea:-)
They have some wonderful teas there and they're packed nicely. So if you look for yourself or even as a gift - that's the place.
THANKS!!!
