I really like the aperitivo here, I come quite often. The restaurant upstairs is a bit overpriced in my opinion and the dishes are quite average. The steak is good.

I visited HK for 5 days on a girls trip. We returned to La Piola 3 times for drinks before and/or after dinner. We loved the ambiance and standing on a street corner in SOHO. The staff at La Piola is very nice and efficient. Great little spot.

A very conveniently placed little watering hole with professional, friendly and quick bar service, it offers a tasty range of little morsels at 'cocktail hour' to keep the hunger pangs at bay and keep you balanced as you continue drinking! Serving long cold glasses of Pierroni a favourite, the vibe is Italian and energetic with mostly local patrons spilling onto the street. It's neither cheap nor expensive in HK terms but it's consistent and doesn't disappoint which is more than I can say for many other establishments in HK generally. The Pottinger steps run between Queens Rd Central and Hollywood Rd and have some fun local/authentic old HK style stores for cheap goods. Easy to cruise along but La Piola does offer your exhausted travel buddy a respite with refreshments in the ideal location for you to continue looking - at those stalls or the many other local shops around this little bar. It's also a restaurant with more formal but still casual dining upstairs. We love this little place for consistent quality of food, drinks and service. After two weeks in HK we sampled quite a few, I can assure you.

Located in the "central" district, this is by far the best italian restaurant in Hong Kong.
With a Piemontese style menu, Pasta and Meat are the best choices.
Main products are all imported directly from Italy, this is a clear indicator of commitment to quality.

A nice win cellar offer a quite good choice of italian's etiquettes.

Restaurant also offer a lovely aperitive are, with a spectacular large bar and a dedicated are at the ground floor.

Defenitely a must go.

Honestly speaking, La Piola got few ups and downs, ups ?
> location is superb
> atmosphere is nice
> service is good
> big selection at the Aperitivo
Downs ?
> Food menu seems a bit overpriced
> Portions seems to be a bit small

Recommendation ?
Stick to the aperitivo :)
