“We went Daffy for the Duck!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 June 2012

Went here with some friends for an evening meal there were about 8 of us and we followed the advice, ordered the duck in advance. And let me tell you if you go you are going to want the duck.

We had 2 course duck with pancakes and san choi b and it was sensational, duck skin was crispy with plenty of duck meat and the second course while fairly small portions was exceptiona quality and not greasy.

Value for money is excellent if you take into account the quality of the food, the service and the quality of the dining room that is worth a trip just by itself, outstanding!

“Cover charge for chilli sauce!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 May 2012 via mobile

Decor is amazing. Reservations are recommended. Food ok but quite expensive for 'not bad' fare. I guess it is in Central but overall I would rate this restaurant only 6/10. It is ok once every 2 years or so. I asked for chilli sauce to go with my dim sum (we also ordered other normal lunch time dishes such as pork belly (v nice and worth it) and char siu (also quite nice) and was not told there was a cover charge. I only saw the charge when the bill came. This is not a restaurant operating on tight margins so not sure why they haveto charge us timers extra for chilli sauce? Service polite but slightly slow. Not worth the money I don't think. I would rather pay less at say a place like Din Tai Fung or pay more for better food like Fook Lam Moon.

“Not worth the trip”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 May 2012

Honestly, you could get a better meal just about anywhere. The room is elegant and the service good but the food is average at best. Save your money

“Perhaps a tad too formal, but really good food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 May 2012

We had a great dinner here, nicely executed food in a beautiful room. The service I would call old-school: white-tunics and lots of formality. The menu is quite extensive and offers a lot of choice that people not familiar with eating out in Hong Kong might find unusual. Throw caution to the wind and enjoy!

“Expensive, but worth it . . . just.”

Less touristy than the China Club, but unmistakably from the same stable.
