PLEASE DON'T STAY HERE

1.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 3 Oct 2012
We got a shock of life when we saw the room. It was really really tiny with no space at all. The bathroom had no place at all and one has to sit on toilet seat to take a bath. The hotel guy was absolutely rude to us and had no courtesy as to how does one talk to guests.

Our flight arrived HK at 5am, however, the check in time is 1pm, although we requested an early check in online when making the booking, the reception guy won't let us check in early, so we put our luggages in their storage and killed 8 hours outside. So plan something for your morning if u are having a early arrival. The room I'd small, but there are space underneath the bed, fit 2 bug luggages and 2 carry on easily, just make sure you have your stuff out before putting the luggage under the bed. The wifi is super FAST. The elevator to the 15th floor is very small and slow. So expecting some wait during busy hours.

Good location. There are plenty of places within walking distance and is close to Star Ferry going to Hong Kong Island. The room was a double and was very small. Even smaller than I imagined when reading the reviews. The lady at the desk was very nice and accommodating. The staff was nice and the rooms were clean. The wireless internet was fast when I got it working. I had trouble getting online until I finally changed my proxy settings on my computer which I never had to do before at other Hotels. The shower has hot water. There was a TV but the only English channels were BBC and Pearl which had a few English speaking shows at night. The only thing that bothered me but I had read other reviews so I was prepared, was the many touts outside the Hotel and down the block trying to sell you shirts and other things. The Hotel is in Chun King Mansion which has many little shops and many people you must walk to get to the elevator. There are many foreign exchange places on the ground floor also. We stayed 3 nights and it costs $154 USD total so for the money it was worth the small room.

Room tip: Ask for a room away from the front desk because the walls are thin and you can hear the staff talking at night.

The point from entering the building to your room, you're truly in a refugee camp. The whole building is monopolize by African, Indian and Middle-Easten. The lift are tiny, packed, and slow. It's normal to wait for 15 minutes for the lift. Make sure you get to the right block, it will take you 30 minutes just to find out you're in the wrong block.

No matter which hotel you book, you'll be direct to room at the other floor / block with the other name. Make sure you bring the paper when you book online, they always chase me out for not presenting the paper. The room is OK and clean but very small, I doubt you can turn your body. Wifi included.
