Owner description: Possibly the last Chinese junk to be painstakingly handcrafted in Hong Kong, aqualuna was created using age old designs and traditional materials by an 80 year old local craftsman. Also known as “Cheung Po Tsai” in Cantonese, aqualuna is named after the infamous Cheung Chau island pirate who used to terrorize the waters. Guests are able to absorb Hong Kong’s history while enjoying the intoxicating harbour and skyline views on board. This iconic Hong Kong experience is completed by cocktails and snacks served in the boat’s large cabin and open air decks.

High cost river cruise that failed to deliver on the hype. We could have seen the light show from the Star ferry at a much more reasonable cost. Disappointing.

The Aqua Luna junk cruise is a great way to see Hong Kong harbour. The seats are great for lounging on, or you can sit outside and get the breeze in your hair, watch the junk sails flapping and enjoy the sun. The staff were very friendly, happy to take photos for me, and a free drink provided as part of the ticket price.
On arrival at Central Pier 9, there is no ticket booth nor any Aqua Luna sign which was a bit disconcerting when you are the only person there. But rest assured that is indeed where you wait. Otherwise, a very good afternoon outing.

A popular way to cruise Victoria harbor is with the Aqua Luna, a junk with red-sail. The sailing prices are HK$150 per adult, HK$120 per child for the afternoon sailing, HK$190 and $150 for evening sailing and HK$240 and HK$190 per person for the night sailing during the Symphony of Lights performance. This is considerably more expensive than taking the similar Star Ferry harbor cruise but then again, you get to enjoy the harbor and views of the skyline from a traditional junk style boat instead of a historic passenger ferry.

You board the Aqua Luna in both TST and Central but most passengers load at the TST embarkation point which is on the promenade past the Avenue of Stars towards the Clock Tower. The sailing is approximately 45 minutes and ticket comes with one beverage.

Overall, we feel this ticket price for the Aqua Luna is a bit expensive and would suggest taking the similar Star Ferry cruise if you are more budget conscious. However, if you want a traditional junk boat experience than you might enjoy a cruise on the Aqua Luna boat.

This is the third trip we have done on Aqua Luna. We live in Hong Kong and book a trip every time we have friends and family visiting. It is wonderful to sit back and relax on the top deck with a glass of wine and enjoy Hong Kong from the water. It is simply the best day out in Hong Kong to enjoy with friends or a loved one. Looking forward to our next trip.

My husband and I toured the harbor on the Aqua Luna boat while on vacation in November in Hong Kong. The boat, with its flaming red sails, is designed to look like the old Chinese "junk" boats. We sat on the top deck, reclining on the sofas and drinking our glass of wine while looking out at the stunning Hong Kong skyline reflecting in the waters of Victoria Harbor...so lovely! The price for this attraction was about $60 for two people and includes a free drink (red or white wine or cocktail). We paid a bit more to sail during the laser light show. The tour takes you around the harbor and lasts about 45 minutes total. Overall, we definitely enjoyed the Aqua Luna and would recommend this tourist attraction to Hong Kong visitors!
