“Nice hotel but pray for considerate neighbors!”
Reviewed 29 December 2011

Not complaining about the small room, it's like that in Hong Kong. Not qualms about the red light district. They mind their own business, I don't see them talking to men who walk by either.

The strengths:
- Awesome location
- Only 5 minute walk to Ladies Mkt
- Delicious street food all around, just 3 minutes walk from the mall
- 5 mins walk to Langham Mall if you're into the branded stuff
- Friendly cleaning lady
- Relatively new hotel, so you don't get furniture which are falling apart.

The weaknesses:
- Walls are paper thin, I can hear people switching their lights on and off and using the sink.
- Crazy kid (abt 12 years old) running up and down the stairs and shouting in his room, kept me awake all night
- Inconsiderate neighbors who did not close their room doors properly or leaving their doors open so that their relatives from next door can walk into their rooms without pressing the door bell....and the door security buzzer was beeping all morning and night, until we call for the staff downstairs to ask these inconsiderate people to shut their doors.

I was dead tired from all the walking and only wanted a good sleep. The crazy kid and his family and relatives only moved out on the second last night before I can finally have the one good night sleep on the last day of my 5 days tour.

quiet and safe neighborhood, 3 blocks from mong kok subway station and bus stop for airport bus, hotel staff typically chinese hospitality (no match for thai hospitality) but very helpful and gladly obliged when we asked for additional comforter and 2 pillows - no extra charge. facilities are new and fresh. bathroom is excellent.

will definitely stay in this hotel in my next visit.

The hotel is located in the red light district of mongkok what is so good about that? from the nearest exit of the MTR (train) it takes around 5-10 mins to walk to the hotel but you won't feel safe walking especially during late nights as the area is generally like the slums in other countries. On one occasion when I went to the nearest 7-11 to buy stuff, 2 girls approached me and asked if I wanted to have a "good time".. really. The hotel staff are very VERY UNFRIENDLY and don't care about you, they just sit there in the reception area feeling like bosses. As for the value, contrary to what other people say, you could have cheaper hotels where you can check-in in SAFER locations. The rooms are small but are clean and nice because they are new. The hotel itself stands out as this is the only nice and relatively new in the area. Pics of the hotel are deceiving as they only show the rooms and the front of the hotel, and NOT the area around. My advice to you guys, check out other hotels first before trying this one.

In general, great value for money for the location and cleanliness (it's a pretty newish hotel) of the hotel. Rooms are decently sized with a good bathroom.

I suggest you take the bus from the airport and get down at the Mongkok station and walk to the hotel. That's the cheapest solution if you're on a budget. For your return trip, simply walk to the Mongkok station and take the line to the airport line and switch, viola you're right at the airport. I forgot the fares and name but it's generally a lot cheaper than taking a cab or taking the airport express train.

Good:

1. Very easy to locate if you follow the directions as per the website. 5 minutes walk from the Mongkok subway station. It's on of the main station so getting to popular attractions are made easier.
2. Ladies and Sport shoes street are parallel to this hotel, which means you just have to cross about 3 blocks before you're right in the middle of those streets. Very happening at night. You can spend one or 2 nights here if you're looking for good deals.
3. Lots of eateries and 7-11 / Convenience stores are all between 1 to 5 minutes away. You'll be spoilt for choices
4. Langham place, a multi-storey shopping complex / hotel is also 5 minutes away.
5. The room and bed are clean with decent amount of space to put your luggages. Daily restocked mineral water. Toilet is clean with a rain shower
6. Free wifi
7. Very competitive rates
8. Full amenities provided in the toilet.

Bad :
1. Located within the vicinity of the red light district (However no haggling or prostitutes standing on the side etc, very safe)
2. Beds and pillows are so-so
3. Water heater is putting your micro skills to the test as moving it a bit to the cold side and it's cold water, a bit to the left it's burning hot.
4. Walls are thin, thus request for the rooms furthest away from the escalator. Got a bit noisy at times during our stay but usually from people walking / closing doors.
5. No breakfast / chillout area.

In all, if you're travelling on a tighter budget in HK, this is a no brainer place to stay. Go for it.

Room Tip: Tell them not to assign you a room that is literally one step away from the elevator. The further aw...

I stay there for the last night for my trip to HK in september 2011. Overall this hotel is just simple and nice. Definitely value for money!! It's just 10 minutes walk to Mong Kok MTR station. It's quite at night.

Not easy to get taxi by your own unless you asked the hotel to arrange to you or you make a booking by yourselves with any taxi. From this hotel to airport is around HKD$230 all in.

Love their free wifi services!!!
