I had business luncheon meeting today at Chiu Chow Garden where there are ample parking spaces at basement levels. The restaurant was very busy as usual. The food was as good as before. The dim sims were fresh and tasteful. However, tables were set too close to each other; therefore, the environment was too noisy to talk. Last but not least, the service was also very good.

Restaurant is not as good as my last visit. Food is not as good. Also we were surprising my daughter with a birthday cake, and the waitress came over and asked us if we were ready for the cake 3 times in front of my daughter.. so the surprise was ruined. Also asked if the cake could be kept cold. But was at room temperature when we got it. And the cream had started melting, and they charged $100 for the privilege.
Not going back..

It is my pattern to have dinner in this restaurant on Thursday and then go to see movie in Broadways Cinema.
The culinary dishes there are usually above standard, as you know it is part of Maxim group so the quality is more or less guranteed.

We took the office out for Dim Sum and took over four large tables in the back of the restaurant. This is a very big restaurant configured in an L shape. Lots of seating but very full throughout the lunch hour.

Even though the restaurant was busy the ordering process was quick (select each dish on a paper menu and hand it to the server). However it did take a little while before the food deliveries started coming. Large plates like goose, fried rice, fried tofu came first and then a stream of small dim sum plates. The best ones I tried were the shrimp, pork dumplings, fried taro, and tripe. Surprises were ones that I never tried before: a steamed green dumpling (shrimp and veggies inside) and pan fried green dumpling (sweet taro paste). Fried dishes were never too greasy which the dim sum places in the US could learn from. Makes one feel less guilty.

Service is good. Tea pots always kept full. Empty dishes removed at a reasonable pace.
