A Beijing local took my husband and I took Jiu Hua Shan Roast Duck claiming it was the best in the city. We took his word for it and we weren't disappointed. The duck was perfectly crispy and not too oily. It was served with these small, thin wraps which you would place a couple pieces of duck on, drizzle with thick glaze and sprinkle some green onions on top. Then roll up the wrap, take a bite and you're in ecstasy.
This restaurant has a more local feel, we didn't see any other tourists there. Menu has English and service is great. Decor is over the top...lots of colors and fish tanks. But this is Beijing, right?
You won't regret going here. I'm still dreaming about that duck. Yum.
