Anybody giving this accommodation more than one star is either a backpacker or just trying to justify why they stayed here. I gave one star because of friendly and helpful staff plus the availability of Wifi.
As for the accommodation we were put up in nothing more that a bedroom and a bathroom, that's all.
The bed room had one chair upon which one of our suitcases was placed. The other, plus two other cases had to be put against the wall and when required to be opened had to be lifted on to the bed because no other room.
The bathroom was serviceable but the constant stench of sewerage was offensive to Western senses.
Overall the courtyard needs money spent on it, if only to make obvious and basic repairs and renovations.
In my view it, in its current state is badly run down.
If you must, one night here is enough just to stay you have stayed in a hutong.
As previously mentioned, Wifi important because you are better off browsing tin one of the actual courtyards than staying indoors.
Most disappointing.

If you really want to experience the type of residence a Chinese lives in, this place is highly recommendable. Don't expect the amenities of a regular hotel on this one. It's a very nice, small, and acceptable place to stay when you're in Beijing.

Things that I like -

- People on the reception speaks English.
- Breakfast is nice (usual stuff cereals, bread, and a couple of Chinese cuisines).
- Clean rooms.
- Courteous staff.
- A very peaceful garden outside your room.
- Near Tienanmen Square.
- I arranged a hotel pick-up from the airport, and the driver is nice. He don't speak English, but he uses an app to communicate with you.
- There are several restaurants around the area. You just have to point your orders from the menu's pictures in order to tell them what you want.
- They provide you 2 bottles of water each day.

Things that I don't like

- Wifi connection is very poor. I have to use the data plan from my Chinese sim to connect to the internet.
- The distance to the nearest subway station is quite a bit far. Around 10 to 15-minute walk.
- Cable TV has very poor reception (with no English channels).

If you're ok with the negative comments that I mentioned, then I suggest that you go for it. It's quite an experience staying in this type of accommodation.

Will I come back? Although I recommend this to anyone who want's to stay in Beijing, maybe next time I'll try to look for a similar hotel, but near to the Subway station.

Room Tip: Well, it's just a single storey hotel. Any room would have the same experience.

What a treat. My friend and I stayed in one of the "deluxe twin" rooms. The rooms are very comfortable and the furnishings are quaint. The hutong was lovely and the perfect location from which to explore Old Beijing. Other pictures posted on TA seem to do a good job of reflecting the hotel, so I won't add more that are redundant.

Arriving: The hotel arranged for a driver to come to retrieve us at the airport (with a sign with our names) and bring us to the hotel. Our flight was several ours late and they very efficiently monitored the flight status to make sure that they go there on time (but didn't waste 4 hours). We were exhausted upon arrival and so it was lovely to be taken care of at that point.

The room: The room itself had the two beds, a night stand, a cabinet holding a refrigerator and serving as a stand for the TV (which we never turned on), a desk, a wardrobe, and a couple of chairs with a table in between for tea and coffee service. The floors were wood (laminate?) with decorative rugs. The beds were comfortable, but much firmer than traditional U.S. hotel beds. The air conditioner worked like a charm. The hotel's internet wifi worked very well, but the "Great Internet Wall of China" was frustrating at several times when we needed to access particular systems for work. Our bathroom was huge and perfectly well equipped -- reasonable sized shower (with glass walls, unlike the open shower mentioned in another review) in a large stone tiled bathroom with a perfectly functional sink, toilet, and radiator.

The amenities: 2 complimentary bottles of water each day; supplies for making tea and coffee in the room; a refrigerator with additional drinks (for a charge), shampoo, bath gel, toothpaste & tooth brush, comb, and shower cap in the bathroom.

Breakfast: The hotel serves breakfast each morning from 7:30-9:30 (but they're actually usually set up considerably before then). They had coffee, milk, juice, yogurt, boiled eggs, toast and jam, rice soup with salty noodles, fresh fruit, and four rotating hot dishes. Usually one was steamed vegetables, one was a sweet noodle dish, and the other two varied (chicken nuggets, various stir fries, french toast, etc.). The coffee was great and the food was perfectly good.

The hotel is in a very quiet, residential hutong (Dengcai). One of the adjacent hutongs (Lishi) has a number of wonderful restaurants. We ate in an incredibly affordable fish restaurant in Lishi (whose name I don't know, but I think there was just one that had "fish" in the name), and much higher end restaurant called "Taste." We enjoyed both very much.

There is a nearby metro station, but there are so many amazing experiences within walking distance (Forbidden City, Drum Tower and Bell Tower, Tienanmen Square, Jinghsan Park, etc.). The hotel has "free bike rental" but while we were there, two of the three bikes weren't working. (Though, we slightly overlapped with couple that had used the bikes quite a bit, so they must have been working up until we got there).

Beijing has plenty of modern, western and eastern style, hotels. But, as nice as they are, I don't see the point in staying at one more Westin when you can have such a unique and convenient experience we had staying at Sihe.

On the plus side - fantastic location - close to Line 5 - so great for Metro and for walking to the center of Beijing. Lovely local restaurants and shops near by. Ample breakfast and good coffee - helpful staff in a wonderful area of Beijing - far down the Hutong alley (and adventure all on its own) - AC worked well - wifi was free, although a bit weak. On the minus side (if you can call them that) - laundry was arranged at RMB 20 an item - rooms were a bit noisy if guests came in late - could do with some painting and fixing up.

Was there for 3 nights and loved it - would go back again.

Enjoyed the experience staying at this Hotel, but beware! Do not take notice of reviews that are 3 or 4 years old. Hotel has obviously been run down in the last few years & could do with a facelift. Airport Shuttle service worked to pick us up from airport, but had to get a taxi on departure. Advertised laundry service did not exist, nor were staff interested in helping to to locate a nearby service. (if you do not speak the local language it is very hard to make yourself understood even with a translator app in the hutongs) On the plus side, the bed was comfortable, the breakfast reasonable and the location excellent, being in walking distance to the forbidden city & Tianeman Square. Restaurants of good quality abound within 300 metres of the hotel and public transport is close by
