Stayed as part of Wendy Wu tour plus an extra night as we arrived a day early.
Very hard beds and the worst coffee of all the hotels we stayed in. Room clean but dated. Breakfast ok. Restaurants in area but we weren't sure where to eat so had meal in the Chinese restaurant in the hotel which was reasonable.
Nothing to do in the area so we got a taxi to a nearby park on the recommendation of a guide. It was a good visit and cheap taxi ride.
As in all the hotels we visited staff had little English so it could be hard to make yourself understood.

We stayed here as part of an organised tour, so we did not choose it ourselves.
Initial impression was 'it's a bit tired', with all the faded gold and marble everywhere, but we were in China and terrifically excited, and we didn't plan on spending much 'awake time' in there!
Our room was on the 14th floor, so it was quiet-ish. It was also a very good size, with plenty of storage space and a large bathroom, with a shower and separate bath. The only downside was when we initially opened the door, there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke, despite the very clear 'No Smoking' signs. Luckily I had read about the possibility of this in other reviews, and had packed a small lavender room spray. I know - how organised am I?! Within a few minutes, the smell had dissipated, and all was good in the world.
The bed was quite hard, in line with Chinese requirements, but I didn't mind that at all. I like a hard bed.
The shower wasn't great in terms of power and the shower head needs de-scaling (I hadn't packed any of that!) as many of the holes were blocked, but it did the job in the morning.
The hotel is some way out of central Beijing. There is a Metro Station about 15 mins walk away, and it takes around 25 minutes to get to the Hutong area, so it is do-able, but not ideal if you prefer being in the centre of town. There are plenty of shops and restaurants across the road from the hotel, so you will be able to get hold of all your basics.
Breakfast was ok. The restaurant is not huge, and it can be difficult to find a seat if you hit the place at peak time. The food selection was probably the least good we had during our trip, but even so, there was fruit, omelette, cereal, Chinese and Western dishes, so something for everyone, if not such a great quality.
The one tip I will offer: when you check-in, make sure you inspect your room for any damage, and if you spot any, report it to Reception immediately. We noticed one of our lampshades was broken, didn't think too much of it and didn't report it, then on our second day, we were presented with a bill of 200RMB (around £20) to replace it! We had difficulty communicating with the staff as our command of the Chinese language is very poor, and their English is limited, but thankfully they telephoned our guide, who managed to sort out the problem, and we were not charged for the lampshade. Just be aware.
The hotel might not have the 'WOW' factor, but it served its purpose for us in Beijing.

Room tip: The windows are not especially sound-proofed and you need to be as far above the Beijing traffic and construction work as you can.

Very smart Reception area and hotel corridors but the room smelt of cigarette smoke and the carpet was stained. We have a reasonably hard bed but these were the hardest that I've ever tried to sleep on.
The breakfast had a reasonable selection with the weakest coffee we found on our trip.
The good news is that there's an excellent local restaurant 100m from the back entrance.

This was the first hotel we stayed in on a Wendy Wu tour, it was definitely not the 5 star it puts in its description. The location is in the middle of nowhere, we were on a tour so transport was laid on, but with out that you need taxis etc to get anywhere. The rooms were spacious but not the best views. The air conditioning was noisy as it had to be on maximum to be efficient. The cleaning in the rooms was only sufficient, but the toilets downstairs were no better that public toilets in the UK. The only good point was the breakfast but even that was not really of a 5 star quality

We spent 3 nights in Jiangxi Hotel, our experience as follow:
1. Very poor command of English to assist guests.
2. The location is too far to visit anywhere important for tourists so you must use taxi's, whilst not expensive this exposes you to the mercy of Beijing traffic and long commute times for relatively short distances.
3. Rooms are terrible, smoke filled, wallpaper peeling off the wall, smelly bathroom. Poor room cleaning service.
Air-con does not work from October as, as we were informed, a winter time has started.
4. Breakfast is not bad but not any way close to a 4 star experience.
5. Smoke stink everywhere in the hotel.
6. DIRTY toilets.
