It is the NATIONAL Jade Hotel and not the INTERNATIONAL Jade Hotel. You will learn this at the latest once you will try to check in your room...
The service personel in this hotel speaks very limited english and misunderstandings are programmed. The rooms are not very inviting and would need a renovataion soon. For example in some rooms only a few drops of water are dropping out of the shower and you must repair the toilet flush yourself after every second use of the toilet.
If you like typical chinese breakfast buffet you will not be diappointed if you expect something western you might leave the breakfast room hungry.
The hotel is only 50m away from the birds nest and in walking distance to the new convention center which is on the olympic ground, too. By taci from the AP it takes about 20min. w/o traffic jam and about 15 min. to forbidden city

Stayed for 10 days and were treated absolutely wonderfully. Limited english with the staff but one employee who spoke perfect english was designated as the "liason" for english-speaking guests, while we were there at least. He's no longer there but maybe someone has replaced him.
Food at their restaurant was exquisite: like a first class hotel, and menu had full-color photos of all the dishes so that you knew what you were getting. Breakfast buffet was included and was excellent, served in seperate breakfast dining room.
The room was well-appointed and very clean every day; good WiFi signal; large and semi-luxurious.
Travel staff there arranged train tickets to Shanghai very efficiently; prepaid.
Problem when checking out concerning giving proper receipt but it was eventually taken care of.
The area is not touristy central but that's one of the nice things. Many nearby restaurants, large department stores, etc. An upper-middle class suburb of Beijing. The citizens were absolutely lovely, helpful and friendly.
Transportation to tourist sites is very easy via bus or subway.
We had a wonderful & memorable stay at this hotel and still think of it fondly years later.
