Excellent! The food is delightful. The hotel rooms are nice and clean. It seems very secure. The hotel is beautiful on the inside and outside. The pool is one of the bests I ever went to, never seen one so clean. Honestly one of the best hotels I ever stayed at!

The hotel is 10 minutes walk from Tiananmen square and is very well appointed. Staff were both courteous, English fluent and efficient. Airport car transfers recommended if arriving form a long flight (700RMB via concierge). Swimming pool is huge (55m) and spa is very well appointed.

The Grand Hyatt Beijing has a superb location within walking distance of Tian An Men Square. The rooms are as expected on a 5 star hotel and the resturants are quite good, although the breakfast restaurant is too small fior the hotel. The pool is the most amazing indoor pool I have ever seen with palms, waterfalls and a starlit sky.

We loved our stay with Moritz and the front desk folks. Had delicious meals in the Made in China restaurant to include a full-on Peking Duck meal! A little disappointed in the DimSum lunch downstairs, but all-in-all, one of the nicest hotels overall that we've ever stayed in. The location was superb. We even used the bikes in the hotel and went to the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and all around the area. Of course, we just had to go to the Wangfujing area and have our fill of scorpions on a stick WITH seasoning, along with other special dishes. The proximity of this area to the hotel and the amenities around the hotel are second to none. Do I need to even say anything about the pool Fitness Center? Simply amazing! Go see it even if you don't swim or work out! Highly recommended...

The location is the best thing about this hotel followed by the service, which was friendly and professional. The breakfasts in the hotel were great. Perfect for setting you up for the day which could involve walking down the road to the forbidden palace. There were plenty of good eating options around for dinner if you didn't want to eat in the hotel such as the excellent food court in the mall beneath it, or da dong Peking duck restaurant nearby. The hotel is also very near the train station where the overnight sleeper comes in from Shanghai.
Two negatives: one day our room was not made up by the time we arrived back from a full day of sightseeing (we had left at 8am). I find this annoying in any hotel, let alone a 5 star one. Surely it's possible to tell you are not in The room by the fact that your card isn't operating the electricity. My son says I should leave out the make up my room card, but I don't think I should have to. Who, at home, tidies their bedroom and makes their bed at 5pm?!
The other annoying thing was the guided tour we booked through the hotel. His English was great but it all felt a bit uncomfortably like a stitch up, and yes we were taken shopping as part of our visit to the Great Wall and, on reflection, did exactly what the guide wanted rather than anything i would have chosen. They all seem to have an extra annoying habit of asking you to review their service in the car on the way back where it's obviously awkward to say anything other than 'great'! If I were you I would do the tours myself with a good guidebook. Far cheaper and you feel less like you're being spied on.
