Beijing Marriott Hotel City Wall

The rooms were nice and spacious and very clean. The best part was the breakfast. Hot, cold, Western and Asian Food. Better than any breakfast we have ever had in an American hotel in the US. Since you are in China, I recommend staying with the Chinese food and stay away from the American food. If you want American, go back home to get that. It's like trying to get good Chinese food in Nashville, TN. A Chinese person would not call it 'good' Chinese food. It prepared for the American Taste! We walked along the main road. Its about 10 minutes from the train station. Behind the hotel is a nice wall along the old city wall. The lobby area is spacious and it's great to stay inside when it's so hot outside. We were with a tour so the hotel was part of our package.

Room Tip: Go with the Asian food for breakfast, stay away from the Western food. After all, you are in China...

I'm a business traveler and travel regularly. You're gonna really nickel and dime me for everything? I used internet and drank a bottle of water that didn't have a complimentary tag on it - and was nickel and dime on everything. When I tried discussing with front desk, they insisted that this was their policy.

This property has lousy internet to begin with and there wasn't even accessible wireless.

Avoid this property. There are a million American hotel chains to stay at before this one.

Room Tip: Just don't stay here. Stay at the Shangri La.

I'm stayed at the Marriott and for this prise i axpected a lot more, breakfast is terrible the personel is bussy with themself the egg they made yesterday can't be served the next day due to communication problems, so breakfast very bad for 20 euro a person, room is an upgraded single room they use for two persons, only one chair in a 2 person room and very small, airco is good. Internet is user onfriendly, the swimming pool has no pool gard and the personel is only intrest is the administration wish you have to sign while swimming with wet hands, my appinion of this is terrible. The bed topper is coverd in yellow stains from earlier visits, see foto. The toilet is behind the shower so thers very little place and while sitting down not possible to whipe your behind because your head wil bump into the shower glass. The noise from the road is terrible while were at the second ring view, windows let a lot of sound through and wind. I had better hotels for a lot less money, The Marriot is a name wish they loose with this hotel. I'm sorry i booked here. The people are very friendly.

I wil not recomment this hotel and i wil not stay here again.

Room Tip: It's not my favorit hotel, prise to qualitie is poor.

We stayed here for 9days during our trip to Beijing, so I'm pretty sure I got a good feel of the place. An important consideration I made in choosing this hotel was that it was near the subway. Jianguomen and Beijing Railway subway station is just a 2-minute walk from the hotel. For me, the subway is the most efficient way to get around in Beijing. First of all, it's VERY CHEAP. It's only RMB 2 to anywhere. Secondly, being someone who can't speak Mandarin, it is really hard to get around in a cab or bus. I had to rely on the subway map and street map you can get at the hotel in planning our trips.
As for the staff, they may not be that fluent in English but they were very friendly and were at our beck and call. For the price, the room could have been bigger but this is just a (very) minor problem.
