We loved this hotel. Tastefully decorated rooms - with traditional Chinese beds. Very comfortable. Powerful hot water shower. The staff were amazing, so helpful. They advised how to get to the main sights and booked a restaurant for us. It was also our anniversary and my husband's birthday so they baked us a gorgeous cake and gave us the most beautiful bouquet of red roses. Taxi to the airport was 150RMB through the hotel. More expensive than a meter taxi but only by a few quid - so we booked it for ease and I would recommend. The hotel itself is tucked away in a peaceful location off a trendy and very busy street in the Hutong area. To find it and access it you will have to carry your bags a short distance. Cars can't access this road with ease - but I'm pretty sure staff would help with bags. Highly recommend for a peaceful stay with character and friendliness.

This is a very nice and quiet hotel in the hutongs. Nearby a very lively hutong that is busy every night. The bell and sun tower are within walking distance. The lama temple and confusius temple are too far but the hotel provides bike free of charge!
Room are good and the badroom is especially nice. The room were clean as well which is not everywhere in China. The breakfast was fine with a cook for your eggs. Definitely recommended for an experience in the hutongs. The wifi is good and in the restaurant area there is a VPN for Google.

My partner and I stayed at Courtyard 7 twice on our way through Beijing on recent trip and had two exceptional experiences and would highly recommend this hotel.

When the staff heard that we were celebrating our engagement, they organised flowers and a fruit platter for the room and on our return through Beijing they kindly upgraded our room and let us check in early.

The staff are incredibly friendly, the furniture in the rooms is exquisite period style and tastefully decorated, the facilities are perfect and the courtyard itself is exceptionally well renovated.

We used to live nearby and loved the Gulou district and consider Courtyard 7 to be located in the best area of Beijing to explore the most interesting sights.

Whenever we had guests visit when we lived in Beijing, we would always book them at Courtyard 7 and they all had very positive reviews.

Long story short, its great. Book yourself a night and you will definitely not regret it!

The courtyards and buildings are beautiful and our twin room was clean and comfortable. The western style breakfast buffet is quite generous, they even have an egg station and the local breakfast option of soy milk and doughsticks. Location is top notch, best out of three I had in Beijing so far. Great Leap Brewery 5 minutes' walk away, lakes 10-15 minutes, metro station 8-10 minutes through one of the most foreigner-friendly streets in Beijing. Great place to have as a starting point for exploring this huge and dauting city. I'm all for chasing the authentic experience but it's nice to be able to get an espresso when you need one, which is not that easy in some other areas :-) Excellent english-speaking staff, they helped us book tickets to Chaoyang Theatre at ticket booth prices. After I left I noticed I had left my phone charger in the room so I wrote them an e-mail. They immediately replied they had found it and had it delivered to my home in Shanghai. They rent out cars with drivers as well (usual market price) if you don't want to take the bus to the wall. Rooms have air con. Will take all my future visitors here :-)

This hotel is in what was an old courtyard house belonging to an important person. The rooms are arranged around two inner courtyards and retain much of the original feel. The staff were very helpful and kind. The location is fun and in the heart of the city. The only disappointment was a not very good breakfast.
