Returned from the Voyager with my three daughters and am still reeling from the best holiday ever! We lost one of our cases at Nairobi (from Heathrow) but it did arrive via Kenya Airways the next day. The hotel food and staff were excellent overall but beds by the pools became a bit of a fight for as more guests arrived. Weather was changeable with sun, rain and cloud-- never cold though. Beach is limited if you don't fancy tackling the persistent beach boys and tides. Jon, the animator took us for a beach walk which helped. We had a superior garden room which was spacious and had great air-con. A lot of people were being upgraded for free. We were seated each visit to the restaurant but was a bit silly as we had to get up straightaway to get food! A visit to Bombalooloo by courtesy bus was humbling and we took pens, paper and sweets to kids there. Local wood carving factory is a must - don't miss it. Safari to Maasai Mara by air was fab and saw Mt Kilamanjro on the way -a beast- feel honoured to have been amongst the animals-- only missed seeing the leopard even though grass was pretty high. Really sad to leave. All in all it is the friendly people of Kenya we miss not forgetting the fab choice of food. Roll on another visit to this great destination.

The 'good ship voyager's rating as a three star is slightly misleading. Does a three star all inclusive in the Med have rooms so large they can fit two double beds in, personalised air conditioning, fridge, electronic safe, satellite TV, a nice size bathroom and a balcony with plush furniture on it. No I don’t think it does. To top this activities on offer in this hotel are much more varied than any other 3 star or 4 star hotel I have ever stayed in.

One really can't complain about anything at the Voyager. The food choice is amazing, and the quality of the food is very impressive. There is also a good selection for vegetarians which kept my girlfriend happy.

However, the best thing about this hotel is the staff. They are the most friendly people we have ever met. Everyone, regardless of their job or how busy they are take time to say 'Jambo' to you. This is the same throughout the whole country. Kenyans are so much more friendly then us English. The animation team were brilliant and throughout our 11 day stay they got us involved in all the activities. The beach football was especially good, particularly when we (the tourists) beat the beach boys (who are pretty good) 1-0.

Throughout the duration of our stay there was some work going on around the hotel, but it didn't bother us one bit. One could not hear the hammering over the noise from the fun pool anyway! Plus as june/july is the windy season, the breeze drowns out any noise the fun doesn't. Due to the refurbishment, half the hotel rooms were out. This meant the hotel was very quiet, which was great as everybody got to know each other which created a very friendly atmosphere. Us English even got on with the Germans during the World Cup, which wouldn't happen anywhere else in the world!

The hotel is completely perfect, I really can't find any fault with it, the only thing I didn't like was the beach and the sea. The sea was to shallow to swim in at low tide and too rough at high tide, and the beach is hard sand when the tide is out. There is also the danger of spiky sea urchins in the seaweed. Therefore the beach can't really be enjoyed too much. However, if you go out on the glass bottom boat, there are some amazing snorkelling sites they stop at. We saw clownfish, sea snakes (the harmless ones), angel fish, sea spiders, starfish, puffer fish and many other colourful fish which I can't remember the name of.

We travelled to Kenya with Cosmos and did the Shadow of Kilamanjaro Safari when we first arrived. The safari was remarkable and our driver, Ramtu succeeded in finding us the Big Five. We also saw everything else there was to see thanks to good ole Ramtu. I would most definitely recommend this safari as the lodges were of high class and it was a fairly reasonable price as we booked it with the Voyager at time of booking.

All in all, Kenya is a wonderful place and I would recommend that everyone come and see this great country. I can't wait to go back

Returned on Tuesday 11th July

1.There is building work going on and it will be for several weeks (we were told this by ‘The Captain’ at his drinks party). Then it will start again next year with the development of a conference centre and re location of eating areas.

2.This work in noisy at times and starts early, it is major work not a cosmetic job. There is also other work going on painting and grounds work.

3.Make sure you complain if you are not happy with your room etc– they will do something to make it right don’t suffer in silence, customer service is good

4.The hotel is all right but it is a 3 star, it’s a good average resort the standards are those you would expect of a 3 star, except the service which is better.

5.The staff are lovely, caring, generous with their time, and make you very welcome, they work hard and enjoy their work.

6.Good Trips half day Mombassa, and the Tamarind Dow (evening boat trip and meal).

7.The food is good varied and lots of Veggie options.

8.Beach area is a bit small and covered by water at high tide; the ‘beach boys’ can be a bit of a pain.

9.On balance it was ok, beach not up to Caribbean standards, we enjoyed it but would not return for an AI hol we’d go to the Caribbean

10.Safari? Brilliant!! We did the Thorn Tree Safari and now wish we’d done a seven-day one, saw so much and the lodges were fine. Absolutely the best bit !

If you are doing a safari where you leave your cases with your rep at Mombassa airport for forwarding to your hotel ready for your arrival in a few days. (particularly Cosmos)
1.Make sure they put legible correct labels on the cases – make sure you see the label and see it attached to the case and that it won’t come off.
2.Get a receipt for your case that clearly states the number and type of case(s) you have left.
3.Watch what they do with them make sure they keep them safe at the airport.

Two of our party spent 10 days with no clothes case lost and no record of where it could be. It never turned up. Cosmos had no clear tracking system and didn’t give receipts. The rep just took them from us.

Just returned from the good ship Voyager on Tuesday 11th July after staying on board for 2 weeks, thought I would try to reassure people who are travelling to the Voyager in the near future.

Before travelling we were advised of some minor building works which would be completed by the end of June, this didn't turn out to be quite true as the building work was still going on when we left and didn't look to me like it would be finished until at least the end of July, however to be truthful what building work which was going on didn't affect the enjoyment of our holiday one little bit, yes there is some banging noise but this tends to be drowned out by music and the sound of people having fun, it really depends on personal opinion I guess as to how bad you think the noise is, you can always get away from it at the relax pool which is absolutely amazing.

From the moment we arrived at the Voyager to the moment we left we had a wonderful time, we were exceptionally well looked after by each and every member of staff (especially George at the Look Out bar) who are a credit to themselves and the hotel, they really cannot do enough to help whenever possible.

We stayed in 2 different rooms one superior garden view (before safari) which was spacious and clean and a standard sea view room (after safari) which was small but perfectly adequate (and hey who spends loads of time in your room when you're on holiday!).

The 3 different pools on offer are great, my favourite was the relax pool which is so peaceful and you could watch and listen to the indian ocean as you sunbathed - pure bliss.

The food on offer is excellent, with a huge variety on offer and a good vegetarian corner, which I've never come across while travelling in other countries, the drinks are always free flowing too, if you see George at the Look Out bar he will make sure you never have an empty glass and makes some great cocktails which are so refreshing in the heat.

The highlight for me of the holiday though had to be the safari, we went on a 4 day safari to Amboseli, Tsavo East & Tsavo West, words cannot describe how amazing you will feel when you see the animals of which you get so close to, we saw 4 of the big 5 (only the rhino escaping us) and many more which is down to the skill and experience of your driver and their colleagues who stay in communication to alert of any sightings.

Would certainly return to the Voyager its an amazing place and would love to see it once all of the refurbishment work has been completed.

I stayed at the Voyager with my husband and our nearly two year old son and can honestly say, that it was a brilliant experience from start to end.

The staff are probably the making of this resort as they always had so much energy and nothing was ever too much trouble. On leaving the resort we were asked to complete a evaluation form and also to name any staff whom were particularily good. This was an impossible task as i couldn't decide on just one. They were extremely good with my son who was a bit of a live wire to say the least.
The Animation Team were excellent There stamina was incredible, on the go from early morning to late at night keeping everyone entertained and amused, especially Jacob, whom had me confused on our first morning when I spotted him doing the AYROBEECS in a ladies swimsuit. Even on the one day it rained they all interacted with guests on in the animation deck playing games and chatting.

The food was absolutely amazing, even my husband, who is normally a very fussy eater came back heavier then he arrived. All waiters and waitresses were very helpful and seemed geniuinely pleased to see you at every meal, even remembering our room number and having a table ready for us with a high chair on arrival.

Evening entertainment was very good and varied suitably throughout our two week stay. The Animation Team once again done credit to the resort with their musicals, as well as the talents from the various acrobats.

There is some refurbishment going on at the Voyager at the moment and our room was right next to some of it, though it never really was an issue at all. I have read a few other reports saying that it is like a construction site and you can not get away from it all, but have to say that we never personally found it to be a problem.

The hotel grounds are kept beautiful, there is always maitanence workers busy keeping it up to standards. (They are just as friendly as the hotel staff.) The only part that I will not rate at full marks are the standard of the room we were staying in, which was a standard garden view. Although it was cleaned daily without fail, due to the dated interior I never felt it was clean enough. However in defence I know that it was, and am aware that we were in a room which had yet to be refurbished. Just me being snobby I suppose Ha Ha.
The Captain explained that all standards of room are being upgraded and even the garden view rooms looked as though they will be of a high standard

Looking forward to going back in the future to see the finished results.
