Even with a late 10 pm check in after a long flight, check in was welcoming, pleasant, and easy. The economy room was very large and comfortable. The breakfast was very good and plentiful. The staff was very friendly and nice. The grounds are quiet and attractive. The Karen location is very close and convenient to the Galeria Mall, David Sheldricks Elephant Orphanage, the Giraffe Center,Karen Blixen House, and the Nairobi National Park. Stay safely and economically here so you can give more to the Elephant Orphanage and support their great work. The Troy Hotel is doing everything right! Thanks for a great and pleasant stay!

Room tip: Even our economy room was large and comfortable...larger than it appeared in pictures

Absolutely great location for touring- Nairobi Animal Park, the area of Karen, as well as downtown Nairobi. Super clean, great meals, even can do your laundry and make a driver available for you! They became more like family to me. I look forward to staying there again and again.

This was my first time to Africa as well as my first international mission trip. We stayed here for 6 nights, and before arriving I honestly wasn't quite sure what to expect. I was happily surprised, and loved our time here.

The hotel is located off the main road directly across from the Nairobi National Park. It's set far enough from the road that you feel like you're in a different world. The grounds were well taken care of, and it was a beautiful property. All of the couples stayed in the main part of the hotel, while the other members of our group stayed in the bungalows. Personally I liked the bungalows better as they were two bedrooms, with a common area that had a living room as well as a mini kitchen.

Every morning we had breakfast at the hotel, and while some of the food is expectedly different than at home, it was great. They have a chef that cooks fresh eggs, omelettes etc every morning. We also had dinner a few nights on property as well which was great. From chicken, to amazing fish and curry dishes. Each meal was prepared with care and as we were a large group of 22-24, they made sure we never ran out.

The entire trip was life changing and I hope to return to the country and Hotel Troy some day.

Room tip: Bungalows have a lot of space as well as a kitchen area should you have some of your own food.

My husband and I spent four nights at Troy Hotel. This is a family run hotel with very friendly and efficient staff, lovely gardens and is a very safe and secure a place to stay. It is a haven from the energy and traffic of Nairobi. It has a small pool and lovely gardens and is very close to a number of tourist attractions including the giraffes, the elephant orphanage and the Karen Blixen house. There is a mall within walking distance that has a big supermarket and African craft stores and cafes. While the rooms are small, the hot water is always on, the internet is great and everything is neat and tidy. There is a lounge for relaxing and the small restaurant is always open. This place is not fancy but it is very laid back and feels like home. Small conferences use this hotel and groups going to and from safari. And Uber drivers do know where this hotel is (see one of the reviews), breakfast is good as is a pot of African masala tea in the afternoon. Thank you Troy staff!

Wonderful people! Even after a slight snafu with the reservations, the Director herself stepped in and made everything right...highly recommend! And you can't find a better location...a short drive from the airport, very near the main gate to the Nairobi Game Park, and quite close to a large shopping mall. The breakfast is also very good and the security is excellent.

Room tip: You can get a budget room or a corner suite...cabins are available for families!
