We stayed at the Nile Palace on our honeymoon and really enjoyed it. Here's some highlights:
- Attentive, friendly staff. They really tried to get to know you and remember your name. When I fell ill - they made me a custom dinner (toast) for free and made sure that I was OK.
- Room had a spacious balcony with a view of the Nile.
- Full A/C control and it was the best night's sleep I had in Egypt!
- Pool was lovely, well maintained and clean
- Clean, spacious rooms. The porters checked regularly if we had enough towels/soap etc.
- Stepping into the hotel was a step away fro mthe hassle outside on the streets. It was a haven!
- Safe atmosphere with security 24/7. This was lovely and made me feel very secure knowing that it was controlled.
- Food was excellent and the breakfast buffet catered for everyone. There are different restaurants to choose from but we stuck to the Nubian Restaurant and the Lebanese.
- They knew it was our honeymoon and presented us (completely by surprise) with a delicious (and HUGE) cake and sang a traditional egyptian wedding song for us. It was such a lovely touch!
- Be careful of the taxi drivers/horse drivers waiting outside the hotel. Some of them can be pushy but the hotel staff try their best to help you out.

Room Tip: Ask for a Nile view - you will see the sunset over the Valley of the Kings and it's really special. Also, the Nile view rooms are away from the street so quieter.

i and my family visit egypt and luxor especialy very frequently and have stayed at the s,burgh on many occations as we rate it as the best hotel in luxor..i myself also visit luxor solo to visit my egyptian freinds .when i do i stay at less grander hotels, but all ways call in to the s, burgh to see the waiters , shop keepers and in particular the nubian lady who bakes the bread in the gardens of the hotel as she is a good freind of some 4 years . i was sad to see she is no longer there this may 2012 and was told she had retired.!!! i used to have good conversations with her about life in general .. i miss her..and no doubt do many other visitors who had the pleasure of knowing her..It was sad to see the lack of tourists in luxor and i hope things get better after the unrest has abated and law and order returns to luxor as at the moment it resembles the wild west outside in the streets around the hotels on kaled ibn walid street and less fanatical egyptophiles as myself will not return . ana baheb masr. ed baylis. redditch. england.

May we convey our thanks to you for your review.
It was good to know that your stay was perfect with us. Apart from the issues of the ‘wild west’ behavior outside of the hotel it appears that your visit was another memorable one!
We hope that the situation will improve in Egypt and we apologize for the hassle that you encountered.
As you mentioned in your comments we too are sorry to see our bread lady (Atyaat) leave her work at the hotel. She certainly was a lovely character that everyone loved and enjoyed having a chat with!
It would be our pleasure once again to host you in our hotel in the not so distant future…

Best regards

I really cannot say enough good things about this hotel. My room had a balcony and view of the Nile. Both the room and the bath were spacious. I was able to control the temperature to my comfort level. It was quiet. I had a choice of several restaurants offering a variety of cuisines. I enjoyed the Thai restaurant the most. The Lebanese and Italian were mediocre. The breakfast at the Nubian that is included was a huge buffet with an amazing assortment of choices. The swimming pool is another plus. The hotel staff is amazingly attentive to one's needs. After I checked in I was given a quick tour of the facilities and guided to my room with some additional explanation. Any time I had a question or concern, it was handled promptly. The price of my room was very reasonable. Hotel is centrally located. One word of caution: WiFi is available only in the public areas and there is a charge for it. I paid 99 Egyptian pounds for 2 days. (One day was free). I understand the hotel has a contract with the provider. Also, I booked a massage at what they call their spa. However, the facility was not very welcoming. And the floor it's located on seemed unfinished. Massage was OK.

Room Tip: View of the Nile with balcony was outstanding. I was on the 2nd floor and it was fine (quiet, etc.). However, the hotel was not full.

Room Tip: We had a room over looking the nile lovely to see the sunset, the only problem is it would be much more comfortable if there provided a parasol so you could sit on your balcolny as it gets extremely hot mid day
