Osiris Hotel

The hotel is on the 12th floor of an office building, we took the doorless elevator to the top of the 12th floor, the door was locked, the elevator light turned off.
In the dark we hit 11, 10 and the elevator didn't move, we hit 9 and were able to get out.
I walked up the steps and checked in.
We were asked to pay for the hotel again even though we had booked on hotels.com and paid. Then I was told we couldn't leave the hotel because the doors were locked.
We went to bed hungry because this is not an actual hotel. We left the next day.

Room Tip: Go to another hotel, legit overpriced for what it was

For the positive side the hotel has a good location and is quiet during the night, rooms are correct and cleaned, breakfast ok. For the less positive it is located in a building which you would hesitate to enter as dirty and not safe. The worst thing is the the owner seems tired about his business so the atmosphere is very strange, besides the fact that you need to argue to get your money back and charged 20% commission on money exchange. If you do not mind about it you can go but there are better choices in the same area

Stayed here 2 separate nights between a couple of tours. This place was a nice little treasure. Located super close to Tahrir square and the museum as well as lots of local shopping and restaurants. The rooms are small but more than adequate for a place to sleep or to hide away and just view over the city. The owner Nabil was always nice and attentive. The staff keeps this place clean and inviting. If I am ever to visit Cairo again,I would not hesitate to stay here.

You get what u pay for. Don't expect the Hyatt. The room I got was clean and comfortable on a low level. The bed was good, tv was working. Fridge was switched off, eating and drinking in the room forbidden. Breakfast was Egyptian standard, one day. Second day I just got a coffee.
Wifi worked mostly fast enough and was foc .
The location is pretty well, the staff is friendly and attentive. The area in Cairo is a mess. Like all Cairo is a mess.
The worst was the wrong address I got and a not working phone number . The address is wrong in all websites I found offering a room at Osiris hotel.
The owner knows that google has a problem to locate this hotel at the wrong place .
Recommended ? No

We had a great stay at this hotel.

Uniquely located at the top floor of an office building. It is very homely with great views around the city from the balcony and the roof terrace.

Owner was very helpful and available. He helped us arrange tour to pyramids and other locations at short notice.

Breakfast time is flexible and cooked, served to the table.

Walking distance to Tahrir square(with Egyptian museum) and the metro.

Recommend to email the hotel for booking and arrange for airport pickup as the place is difficult to find the first time.

Expect 3star room standard but it is very clean. Wifi worked well too.

Highly Recommended
