I didn't have the best time in Cairo in my 3 days here, in my opinion the Giza Pyramids are overrated, the city is chaotic and dirty, and I felt like every other person I met was hustling me for money. However, this hotel allowed me to keep my sanity! The staff was amazing, the service and cleanliness rivals any luxurious hotel in the world. And most importantly it's safe and a great location all things considered - I walked around the surrounding blocks late into the evening and never once did I feel endangered. This Hotel is amazing! If you come to Cairo stay here, nice than the Four Seasons and half the cost.

I picked this hotel largely based on the spectacular looking rooftop pool and bar, and whilst this certainly didn't disappoint, it was the friendliness of the staff that really struck me during the stay (plus the free Nespresso and Coke!).

The rooftop has a smallish pool, which is perfect for cooling off in the heat of the day. The views over the city are wonderful during the day but this venue really comes alive at night when the city lights take over and flashing neon party boats take to the Nile. There are a handful of tables around the pool's edge, where you can eat lunch and dinner, or just enjoy a drink (beer is reasonably priced but cocktails are very expensive). On the floor below the pool are two small spas (a men's & a ladies') with a Jacuzzi, steam room, a couple of rainfall showers, and options for massages; it was all clean and relaxing. There is also a well equipped gym. The pool closes at sunset, but both the spa and gym are open late. The pool was closed for two days for maintenance, but the hotel arranged for us to visit a nearby hotel and use their pool.

We chose a room with a balcony overlooking the Nile, which was fantastic. The room was very comfortable and spacious. We didn't hear our neighbours once during the say. There is a busy road between the hotel and the Nile and given the large sliding doors onto the balcony the road noise was present but not disturbing. A particular point of enjoyment were the free Nespresso capsules and soft drink cans delivered to the room (as well as bottled water). Although it was slightly hit-and-miss whether these would be refreshed each day, this wasn't really a problem as a quick call to the "Butler service" would have as much as you could drink delivered to your door shortly afterwards. We have a 1 year old and the hotel provided a spacious cot, quilt and even his own bath robe.

There are two main restaurants, situated next to each other on the mezzanine floor. The first of these serves tasty Turkish, complete with a substantial buffet twice a week. The second is an Italian, which has a couple of nice dishes but is otherwise particularly forgettable (apart from the staff, who are again fantastic). On the rooftop you can get a mixture of international food - having travelled to Egypt, we were disappointed that there wasn't an Egyptian food option in the hotel. Also be prepared for a long wait for food, apart from in the Turkish restaurant we were waiting for 30+ minutes most times, lunch or dinner. This is definitely not a reason to avoid the hotel, just bear it in mind when planning.

The breakfast buffet is substantial and can set you up for the day. We were particularly grateful for the two ladies on duty every morning, Hadeer & Donia, who thoroughly spoilt our 1 year old and gave us everything we needed.

The hotel can provide you with a driver at a moments notice to take you around the city, which, although more expensive than a pre-booked tour, is great for an impromptu excursion. The reception staff spoke perfect English and were extremely helpful. Checkout is a generous 12 noon, but there was no problem in pushing it back to 1pm when I asked, for no charge.

Overall, the hotel is comfortable, well equipped, and with a standout rooftop pool/bar. The staff are genuinely friendly and made a particular big deal of our son, which pleased us all!

Thanks for a great stay!

From the time we arrived until we went home the hotel provided such great service and was a lovely place to stay. We used the executive lounge which was great!
The hotel had lots to do and many places to eat from which were all lovely. Including a chocolate cafe which had nice speciality chocolates.
All of the staff went above and beyond to make our stay special, even helping myself and my family across the busy roads of Cairo!
Special shout to our hospitality staff for our room Ibrahim Khair and Mouhamad from the chocolate bar.
