“The best budget hotel in Cairo!”
Reviewed 19 April 2012

Thank you Isis for making my 6 night stay as a lone female traveller in Cairo very memorable! The rooms are always clean even though it's a bit rundown with a fantastic view of Cairo & the Nile. The best part of Isis is the staff-unbelievably kind & accomodating, They would do anything for you to make you feel at home. Such special people as Muhammad Ali, Medhat Ashouri & Dndrawi. They are now my family in Egypt. Thank you you guys! I feel very fortunate to have chosen this place amongst so many choices downtown. I highly recommend Isis if you are considering staying in a budget hotel in central Cairo.

Fantastic hotel, 5 minute walk from Egyptian museum and Tahrir Square. Highlights of this hotel include superb views over the river Nile and city from its 15th floor location, alongside extremely clean and comfortable rooms. The service in the hotel is truly excellent, staff are extremely attentive to your personal travel desires and will ensure that you see and do everything that you wish to, alongside offering useful travel reccomendations using local insight. Driver Mohammed conducts great and interesting, personalised tours of all the highlights within the city and nearby areas. Reception staff are very friendly and attentive to your needs- Mohammed Ali especially makes you feel very welcome and taken careof throughout your trip. Extremely happy with this hotel choice!

If you're looking for fantastic views of Cairo, truly helpful and friendly staff, cheap prices, and a safe place to lay your head at night, this may be just the place for you. However, if your mood can be altered by broken glass in the entryway, irregular elevators, walks up grimy and dark flights of stairs (elevator stops two stories short of the hotel but doesn't always make it that far up), and overall dinginess, you may not want to make this your choice for a stay in Cairo.

We were particularly disappointed that our request for ensuite bathrooms wasn't honored and with the way that was handled. We'd known we had shared bathrooms the first night, but weren't told until the second day, when we'd already packed up everything to move, that we weren't really going to get to change rooms. When later in the day, someone in our group was having a bout of illness, that shared bathroom problem was a real inconvenience.

The shared bathroom was, happily, kept clean with a fairly dry floor, and the ceiling fans, while wobbly, did seem to really cool the rooms on the very hot days we spent in Cairo.
